I’m really looking forward to this movie. Zack Snyder walks on water in my world making some of the most visually arresting films I’ve seen in my life time, not to mention the stories are usually pretty good as well. Here are a few pics from “Suckerpunch” and a quick look at the trailer…

Red Sparowes

Posted on 29 December 2010 by lreed

Red Sparowes, a super-group in the post-rock scene, consist of only the best of musicians. These members from Isis, Halifax Pier, Angel Hair, and Pleasure Forever have been making music to portray the human questions that rise throughout life. The Sparowes have made a unique sound for themselves and honed in on it. The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer captures the minds of its listeners and guides them through an accepted and well-realized world of death and destruction while beauty bears all of the weight.

When the weight of the world rains upon you, you turn to the music-and only the best post-rock bands helps you create the perfect soundtrack for life. Groups such as Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Russian Circles, and now Red Sparowses all should be amongst the musically accomplished. With The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer, the Sparowes have proven themselves to be a band that can no longer be ignored. The album radiates beauty with sound and creates a beautiful imagery, for any situation. The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer is one album that is a must for anyone who enjoys and appreciates post-rock music.

My personal favorite tracks on the album are, In Illusions of Order, A Hail of Bombs, A Mutiny, As Each End Looms A Subsides, each song is edgy in their own way. I love this album and highly recommend it!

Check out their complete album here:

the beauty of pixar officially made me it’s bitch…

Posted on 29 December 2010 by TH3 No08

If you can sit though this and not feel a little nostalgic you either don’t have a heart, or you don’t have kids. My children were raised on Pixar, we own everything they’ve put out and do our best to see them in the theater when we can. Seeing all these clips reminds me of the great times we’ve had together and how quickly they grow up. Thanks for raising my kids Pixar, you’re doing a much better job than Nintendo did raising me…

New clips from season 2 of Justified…

Posted on 29 December 2010 by TH3 No08

I really dug season 1 of Justified. Walton Goggins is one of my favorite actors and Timothy Olyphant was actually my first pick for Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead (I guess he was busy). Despite it turning a bit into a bit of a formulaic/procedural cop show half way through the season they featured some very good characters who i hope to see return in the new season. Here is a quick look at a couple

National Film Registry Announces 25 New Additions To The Archives…

Posted on 29 December 2010 by TH3 No08

Each year the National Film Registry adds a small group of films to it’s archives to preserve them and keep them safe in their vaults and this years crop includes several notable films as well as a few head scratchers. I don’t know what the criteria is for being picked for the NFR but the films really seem to be all over the board ranging from the early days of film, “Newark Athlete” (1891), to the more modern fare “Study of a River” (1996).

There are a few standouts that should draw the attention of the readers of thenoobnews.com including “All the President

Deathly Hallows Pt 2 casting news…

Posted on 28 December 2010 by TH3 No08

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!!!

For you lovers of all things Potter…

According to screenterriers.com The final bit of re-shoots for the forthcoming final chapter in the Harry Potter saga has concluded and with that comes a bit of interesting casting news.

Up first is Ben Clarke who has apparently been cast as a young Severus Snape for the purpose of flash backs and back story. Not a bad choice I guess. Looks a lot like Snape, same hair and facial features. We’ll see how well he plays the nerdy younger version of Snape who once crooned for Potter’s mother in his childhood but ultimately lost out to her to the much more dashing James Potter.

Ben Clarke as Young Severus Snape…

now the spoilery stuff

Bertie Gilbert has been cast as Scorpius Malfoy(the son of Draco Malfoy), who appears in the final chapter of the book which takes place many years after the final battle. In this chapter of the book, quite a few of the main characters of the story have ventured back to Kings Crossing to send their children off to Hogwarts and do a little catching up around platform 9 and 8/4ths. It will be interesting to see if this ending stays the same or is adjusted to allow for future sequels not based on books (which has long been the rumor about town). Either way it gives us something to look forward to after the lackluster Deathly Hallows pt 1.

New Captain America Shield-Wielding Details!

Posted on 28 December 2010 by Christian

New production details for Marvel & Joe Johnston’s Captain America: The First Avenger sheds light on the Patriots’s mighty shield, and it’s usage behind-the-lens. Check it Out!

Inside Dutch magazine Veronica is an on-set report & a few images which were posted in low-res on Christmas Eve for the much-anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger film. While the report has been covered, the magazine also shared minor details to the patriot’s mighty shield-slinging.

“They mention that 25 shields were made for the production. Small ones were made for the fighting and running, and one was even made out of bronze that was impossible to lift. Chris Evans in some scenes threw a ‘green frisbee’ that will be turned into the shield using special effects.”

The set images now in a much-greater quality, courtesy of my pal RealIronMan from SpiderMedia are provided below.

Star-studded with Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Samuel l. Jackson, Neal Mcdonough,
Hayley Atwell, Stanley Tucci, and Sebastian Stan, Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters in 3D July 22, next year.
