New trailer for Kevin Smith’s Red State

Posted on 27 July 2011 by TH3 No08

Here’s the new trailer for Red State from Kevin Smith and Lions Gate. Looks interesting. Lots of guns and cling wrap. It also looks like it will be getting a theatrical run in LA to qualify it for Oscar contention starting from August 19th through the 25th at the New Beverly Cinema. I haven’t seen it yet but based on early reviews I don’t know how likely that Oscar nomination will be but I’ll see it with an open mind when it hits VOD.

Darabont steps down as showrunner for The Walking Dead…

Posted on 27 July 2011 by TH3 No08

In what is definitely and unexpected bit of news Frank Darabont has decided to step down as show-runner for the AMC tv series The Walking Dead. While it is unknown if he will stay on in another position it seems very unlikely as he has apparently grown tired of the rigorous work schedule that goes along with producing television. His departure is not believed to have any effect on the show moving forward and is still scheduled to premiere it’s second season October 16th 2011.

Zachary Quinto and Kevin Spacey’s trailer for MARGIN CALL

Posted on 26 July 2011 by TH3 No08

This looks to be in the same vein as Wallstreet and Boiler Room. Two very interesting movies about the financial system in America and how it is manipulated by the rich and powerful for their gain and our loss. This movie is about the 1998 financial collapse and how it all began…

The key players at an investment firm become entangled during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis. When entry-level analyst Peter Sullivan unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all involved to the brink of disaster.

David Copperfield calls out Harry Potter

Posted on 26 July 2011 by TH3 No08

It’s good to see that this guy has a sense of humor. Funny or Die does a great job of getting people to say things they probably wouldn’t dream of saying or doing for a good laugh. I look forward to Rowling or “Harry’s” response.

The Walking Dead season 2 images hit Comic Con UPDATED WITH TRAILER!!!

Posted on 22 July 2011 by TH3 No08

Here’s the trailer for SEASON 2 that just premiered at comic con from AMC tv. This looks pretty epic. We even get a glimpse of Hershel’s Farm! I’m so excited to see this premiere on OCTOBER 16, 2011!

AMC Tv released these photos to give us a taste of what’s to come in season 2. For those familiar with the comic, these all look to take place between the end of last season and the point in which they reach the Hershel’s farmhouse. Most of this will probably take place in the first few episodes of next season.

Look for an October premiere date soon…

Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel delayed six months

Posted on 22 July 2011 by TH3 No08

Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot has delayed its theatrical release by six months. Warner Bros. initially announced a December 2012 release date but on Thursday revised its release date to June 14, 2013. Snyder’s Superman will begin filming this summer. Along with Cavill, the cast includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Johnathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as General Zod.

The rumor at this point is that they weren’t prepared to go head to head with The Hobbit and this was the reasoning for the delay. Smart move on their part.

Paranormal Activity 3 trailer goes back to the 80′s

Posted on 21 July 2011 by TH3 No08

This is an interesting take on the found footage film. I enjoyed the first two, the first more than the second but this could be very scary or very silly depending where they take it. We’ll find out in October…

Afro Samurai headed to the big screen…

Posted on 21 July 2011 by TH3 No08

I’ve been a big fan of Afro for a while. I like the cartoon and I had a lot of fun playing the video game. Now it looks like they are ready to move forward with a live action version in the near future. At one point there were talks of having Andre3000 of Outkast star in it but I guess common sense won out. Either way I look forward to seeing it on the big screen. Check out the press release below.

Google+ for iPhone
By: Google
Price: FREE!

In case you have been living under a rock, Google’s new social media venture Google+ came upon the internet scene last month, launching with an invite only member program. It’s been the buzz of the social media community and the hype is good. All it needed to seal the deal was an app. Well Tuesday, it came to iOS.

Google+ for mobile is the compliment to it’s web counterpart. The design is very uniform, sticking to the Google color scheme on a white background. The new black bar is also present, as a notification bar. This bar is on the home page along with the Stream, Huddle, Photos, Profile and Circles options. Simply choose an icon to take you to the option. The Stream is much like
the familiar Facebook news feed, consisting of all the updates from your Circles. Swiping right or left gives you two more options, Nearby and Incoming Messages. Nearby displays updates and check-ins near your location and Incoming Messages will store exactly that.

The newest and most talked about inventions of Google+ is its organization feature Circles and messaging system Huddle.

Watch a new TV trailer for the world-touring Batman Live show. Looks like Batman meets Cirque du Soleil.

Never before has Gotham City, Wayne Manor, the Batcave and Arkham Asylum been brought to life on stage in a more visually exciting way. The Lone Ranger casting news…

Posted on 20 July 2011 by TH3 No08

In some of the more interesting casting news of the summer it looks like some of Hollywood’s best character actors are signing on to join Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in the Upcoming remake/rehash of Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger. THR is reporting that Helena Bonham Carter, Dwight Yoakam and Barry Pepper are all currently in talks to star in Gore Verbinski’s big screen adaptation of the television series.

I love the idea of Yoakam and Pepper roaming the wild west as some of their more memorable roles of the past few years have been in modern westerns. You put an eye patch on either one of these guys and I’m sold.

“Carter will play the madam of a brothel who deals with gentlemen and scoundrels, Yoakam would portray the film’s central villain, Butch Cavendish with Carter a brothel madam and Pepper appearing as 7th Cavalry Captain J. Fuller. Dale’s potential role, meanwhile, is that of Dan Reid, brother to the

Bruce Campbell to appear in Evil Dead remake?

Posted on 20 July 2011 by TH3 No08

I grew up on the legend of Evil Dead. My friends talked about it in whispered tones and hushed awe. No one I knew actually owned a copy of it and the one copy of it that did exist in town was always checked out from the video store so it was like the holy grail of movie experiences for me. When I finally did get to see it later on I was blown away by how awesome it truly was. Well now it looks like a new generation will get to experience that joy all over again as Sam Raimi has decided to produce a remake of the original and it looks like Bruce Cambell won’t star in it but will make a cameo.
