Piranha 3DD Trailer

Posted on 29 February 2012 by TH3 No08

Didn’t watch the first one, probably won’t watch this one. Other than that this looks totally fine, right? I mean, Paul Sheer’s in it so it’s got that going for it.

Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Thought they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being…but can they be stopped?

Posted on 29 February 2012 by TH3 No08

I don’t really know much about this other than the fact that it involves neighbor hood watch and aliens but what I do know is that all four main actors are very funny on their own so we can only hope they can put it all together and give us another great comedy this summer.

Suburban dads form a neighborhood watch group to get time away from their families, only to discover a plot to destroy Earth.

Six Parody Movies That Can Stand on their Own

Posted on 25 February 2012 by Charles B. French

The trouble with a lot of parody movies is that they’re very context specific. They spoof specific pop culture trends that most people won’ even remember six months later. The years are not kind to those parody movies, and watching them is like pulling up an old Tonight Show monologue from 15 years ago. You get that it’s supposed to be funny, but you have no idea why anyone’s laughing. (Unless it’s a Bill Clinton joke – those are timeless.)

The good news is that there are plenty of parody movies that transcend time, not needing an audience up to date on the latest pop culture. The best parodies are able to appeal to those who can appreciate the spoof of the source material, and to those who have no clue what’s being spoofed. If the movie is well-written and funny enough, it’s sometimes easy to forget that it’s a parody at all, which is the case for many of the movies listed below.

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 Blu-Ray Review

Posted on 13 February 2012 by Christian

So I love getting screeners in to review, not only do I get to see the film and special features early I also get to add another movie to my collection. On this go around, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to find a twilight fan surprise them with the Breaking Dawn Blu-Ray and have them review it.. Unknown to me I wouldn’t have to look too far.. Come to find out my sister-in law was just that person.. Se was so excited to see the movie and review it.. Below is her little review.. Give your comments below..

In the latest installment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn pt.1. You finally get to see the much anticipated “for twilight fanatics” wedding between Bella and Edward. Much to my surprise didn’t disappoint, with fantastic special effects and slight comic relief this was definitely a solid performance by a developing cast and the best of the saga thus far. The special features include audio commentary with Director Bill Condon, a fascinating 6 part documentary on the making of breaking dawn-part 1, Take a look into Jacobs Destiny, relive all of your favorite moments of Edward and Bella’s wedding with their personal wedding video, and a jump to option to watch only your favorite scenes of the movie over and over. Blu-ray really brings this movie to life with the stunning quality and is definitely a must own for your personal library.

The Six Best DCU Animated Movies

Posted on 12 February 2012 by Charles B. French

There’s a lot of attention about the big comic book movies coming out this summer. We’ve got The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman, and The Dark Knight Rises, all hoping to be the biggest summer blockbuster the world has ever seen. I admit, I’m very excited and plan to see all of them, and I suspect many of you are as well. However, if you think that big-budget blockbusters are the only place to get your superhero movie fix, you’re wrong.

Since 2007 DC has released a dozen fantastic animated movies that blow many live action productions out of the water. Part of the reason these are so good is that they are based on stories that would never be filmed, either due to budgetary concerns or fear that they wouldn’t have a wide enough box-office appeal. Even if they were green-lighted, odds are that they would have so much studio interference (see Green Lantern) that the result would be a watered-down version of what could have been great.

The animated movies have given DC more freedom to produce great stories, and they are only getting better. This year will see the release of an adaption of Justice League:Doom and a two part adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. I’m awaiting those movies just as much as the summer blockbusters, and I’m far less worried that those movies will disappoint.

For the uninitiated, I’d live to present the top six DC Animated movies and why you need to see them. (After that you should check out the other six because, really, they’re all good.)

Posted on 06 February 2012 by TH3 No08

In a weekend that was expected to be a bit of a downer due to the Super Bowl it was actually a very strong weekend at the box office. Chronicle topped the weekend with 22 million beating out Daniel Radcliffe in his first role post Harry Potter. Both movies performed strongly saving what is usually a dreadful weekend at the movies.
Next weekend should be continue the uptick with big releases in “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” “Safe House,”"The Vow,” and the 3D release of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” hitting on the same weekend.

1. “Chronicle,” $22 million.
2. “The Woman in Black,” $21 million.
3. “The Grey,” $9.5 million.
4. “Big Miracle,” $8.5 million.
5. “Underworld Awakening,” $5.6 million.
6. “One for the Money,” $5.3 million.
7. “Red Tails,” $5 million.

The incredible “The Avengers” superbowl trailer is here!

Posted on 06 February 2012 by TH3 No08

This is one of the best spots from Sunday’s superbowl commercials and really got me pumped up for The Avengers. Whedon really pulled out all the stops and I have to say the reveal of the Hulk was awesome. There’s even a nice scene of Loki and Tony Stark sharing some banter to fill in a little story info. Good stuff to check out including some nice tag lines.

Russell Crowe Denies ROBOCOP Rumor

Posted on 03 February 2012 by Christian

Russell Crowe took to Twitter to answer a fan who asked him whether or not there was any truth to the rumor that he might be playing Robocop in the upcoming remake.

A couple of days ago we were presented with a rumor from Variety that Russel Crowe was being considered for the role of Alex Murphy in the up coming Robocop remake. While the rumor did not seem very likely there had to be some validity to it given the source. Crowe was asked on twitter by user @DRockDot if he was being courted for the role. He responded with just a plain “No”.

Crowe also used twitter to address the Noah rumor as well telling MovieWebs twitter feed And I’m eyeing him(Darren Aronofsky) right back…Liam’s eyeing both of us… and Paramount are eyeing us all, including you. Whole lot of eyeing.“. You can take that at what you will if he was being sarcastic, serious, funny but it looks like he knows he is on the radar for the film. There has been No word yet on who might get the role of Alex Murphy/Robocop in the remake, but keep check CBM for the latest updates on both projects.

ROBOCOP Remake Gets A New Writer

Posted on 01 February 2012 by Christian

They guys over at ComicBookMovie have some cool stuff, that is why we love them.. Check it out..

MGM has hired Gran Torino scribe Nick Schenk to work on a new script for their long in development remake of Paul Verhoeven’s classic sci-fi flick..

According to THR Schenk will come aboard the movie which still has director Jose Padilha attached. The two had been working together on action thriller Tri-Border

MGM have been working on getting a remake (reboot, re-imagining – whatever word they want to use) of Robocop off the ground for years now but we haven’t heard too much about it since Padila was said to have taken the director’s chair. Apparently they hope to shoot the movie in the Summer although no actor has been cast in the lead role yet. Here is what Padilha had to say about the movie previously..

STAR WARS: Volkswagen Debut Their Full Super Bowl Ad

Posted on 01 February 2012 by Christian

Found this cool article over at ComicBookMovies and wanted to share..

We have seen the teaser with dogs barking the Imperial March, now check out the full commercial. It doesn’t seem to be Star Wars related at first, but keep watching..

I despise a good 99% of all product commercials but when they are funny/cool it lessens my ire a bit. These Volkswagen ones have tied into Star Wars in some pretty awesome ways so they get a pass. Anyway, we have seen the little boy Vader, and the teaser featuring dogs barking the Imperial March. Now check out the full Super Bowl spot which once again features a pooch – and then veers off into Star Wars territory in a pretty strange but very funny way..

DC Comics Plans Seven Book Prequel For ‘Watchmen’ :

Posted on 01 February 2012 by Christian

DC is returning to the world of ‘Watchmen’ with a seven book prequel series called ‘Before Watchmen’.

The publisher plans to release a graphic novel each week that will focus on the characters’ lives and adventures in the years before ‘Watchmen’.

It promises that each issue of the mini-series will be inter-connected with each other and build on the mythology of the best-selling graphic novel.

“It’s our responsibility as publishers to find new ways to keep all of our characters relevant,” say DC Entertainment co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee. “After 25 years, the Watchmen are classic characters whose time has come for new stories to be told.”

“We sought out the best writers and artists in the industry to build on the complex mythology of the original.”

The characters the prequel will focus include Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, Nite Owl, Ozymandias, Silk Spectre, Comedian and the Minutemen.

‘Watchmen’, created by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, was originally published by DC Comics between 1986 and 1987. In 2010, Moore revealed that DC offered to give him the rights to ‘Watchmen’ back if he would agree to prequel and sequel projects.

At the time, Moore said that “if they said that 10 years ago, when I asked them for that, then yeah it might have worked but these days I don’t want Watchmen back. Certainly, I don’t want it back under those kinds of terms.”

Though Moore has no involvement in the new prequel project, Gibbons has given the idea his blessing.

“The original series of Watchmen is the complete story that Alan Moore and I wanted to tell. However, I appreciate DC’s reasons for this initiative and the wish of the artists and writers involved to pay tribute to our work. May these new additions have the success they desire,” says Gibbons.
