Trailer for the E Book Meg:Origins

Posted on 26 October 2011 by TH3 No08

The on again, off again shark book that could have been a shark movie Meg is getting a prequel that looks to be only in E Book form. I really dug this book when I first read it back in the 90′s but I’ve never been really shocked that it’s not been able to be made into a movie. The ending is pretty far fetched and to do the story right would probably cost about 200 million dollars. Check out the trailer below and head over to his website to pick it up for only .99 cents.

Bryan Singer’s Excalibur Is No More

Posted on 17 October 2011 by Christian

The X-Men director’s planned remake of John Boorman’s take on Arthurian legend has been shelved. Singer speaks to SFX all about it and reveals that plans for his Battlestar Galactica movie are still on.

As you may or may not know, Bryan Singer was developing a take on the Excalibur legend which was said to be a loose remake of the 1981 John Boorman movie of the same name. That film is considered a classic by many and while I am a fan of it there is no doubt that it has not aged well. So I was looking forward to seeing a new version of the story. Unfortunately it won’t be happening, at least not in the foreseeable future and not with Warner Bros and not with Bryan Singer at the helm. The director spoke to SFX at their annual Sitges Film Festival..

Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Night Eternal” hits bookstores soon…

Posted on 13 October 2011 by TH3 No08

The first two books in The Strain Trilogy were a bit hit or miss for me. I enjoyed the concept behind the two but at times it seemed a bit formulaic. That being said I look forward to seeing how the third book in the series “The Night Eternal” wraps up the story. Pick it up when it hits stores on 10-25-2011 and check out the synopsis below.

Synopsis:
From the authors of the instant New York Times bestsellers The Strain and The Fall comes the final volume in one of the most electrifying thriller series in years.

New Trailer for The Muppets

Posted on 13 October 2011 by TH3 No08

The Muppets Movie looks better and better with each trailer. I thought the early themed trailers were ok but once they got into the actual stories and characters it looks really entertaining. Look for it to hit the theaters just in time for the holidays, 11-23-2011.

Red Band Trailer for 11-11-11

Posted on 13 October 2011 by TH3 No08

Darren Bousman has a bit of a spotty track record with me. I can certainly appreciate what he was trying to do with the Saw sequels but it fell short the longer the series went on but I really enjoyed his remake of Mother’s Day. Here it looks like he’s gone completely overboard with the crazy in 11-11-11. Check out the trailer and tell me what you think.

Synopsis:

After the tragic death of his wife and child, famed American author Joseph Crone travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain, to reunite with his estranged brother, Samuel, and dying father, Richard. However, fate has a different plan for Joseph as his life becomes plagued with strange happenings and the constant sightings of the number 11. Michael Beihn stars in The Divide

Posted on 11 October 2011 by TH3 No08

I’m a sucker for end of the world / post apocolyptic movies and this one looks right up my alley. Michael Beihn is back to star in this dark tale of a group of survivors locked in the basement of apartment building who must struggle to survive. Early reviews are saying this film is super intense and very dark. Looks promising.

When a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York, eight strangers take refuge in the basement of their apartment building, a converted fallout shelter designed by their paranoid superintendent Mickey. With just three connecting rooms it’s barely big enough, but with stockpiles of food and water, the group are at least safe from the horrors outside, and they settle in and attempt to fathom the catastrophe that has ended the lives of so many of their loved ones.

With twists and turns throughout, and no way of knowing who will make it out alive, THE DIVIDE is an action packed psychological thriller that combines ‘Assault on Precinct 13′ with ‘Lord of the Flies’. To survive the end of the world, you first must survive each other…

New Trailer for Sleeping Beauty

Posted on 11 October 2011 by TH3 No08

This is not the Sleeping Beauty that you grew up watching or reading about. This is a dark story of a college student drawn into prostitution and drug use in a super secretive society. I haven’t heard a lot about it but the cinematography in the trailer looks spectactular. Check it out when it hits theaters December 2, 2011.

Is This The First Look at GODZILLA?

Posted on 05 October 2011 by Christian

Legendary Pictures is rebooting GODZILLA with Gareth Edwards (Monsters) to direct and David Goyer (Batman Begins) is writing the screenplay. But will the powerful monster be CGI or a man in a rubber suit?

Last time Godzilla got the Hollywood treatment was in 1998 when Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) and SONY created a film that hardly resembled anything that fans were accustomed to. The star, Godzilla looked nothing like he usually does. Is as though they took the name Godzilla and slapped a Jurassic Park look to the film.

As for the reboot that Legendary Pictures is working on, infamouskidd’s source is reporting that creature sculptor, Hector Arce’s design of Godzilla is the blueprint. Even more exciting is that Legendary is rumored to be going with a rubber suited Godzilla instead of all CGI creation. How great is that?

Our source in the know on the new look of Godzilla sent us off in the direction of Hector A. Arce, a creature/fantasy sculptor, who we

Trailer For Toronto After Dark Film Festival Selection VS, Featuring X-Men: First Class’ Lucas Till

Posted on 05 October 2011 by Christian

Take a look at this trailer for the independent superhero film, Vs. featuring Jason Frost, James Remar (Dexter) and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class).

The film is described as, “Kick-Ass meets Saw, and follows “four superheroes that find themselves abducted by their arch nemesis and are forced to compete in a series of challenges in order to save an abandoned town full of kidnapped innocent civilians.”.

James Remar (“Dexter”) and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) star.

I have to say that’s an excellent premise. Imagine your favorite DC or Marvel superheroes put in a similar situation and you’d probably have a smash hit on your hands.

Also, be sure to check out the indy film I posted yesterday featuring another X-Men: First Class Star, Jason Flemyng. This one was absolutely superb!

Posted on 30 September 2011 by Christian

Warner Bros. and New Line are moving forward with new Mortal Kombat film. Director Kevin Tancharoen, who worked on the popular web-series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, will finally get a chance to make the full-length feature film…

Kevin Tancharoen already expressed his big interest in Mortal Kombat universe, first by making that short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and then by directing a web-series with popular characters. Well, it seems all that work paid off, because Warner Bros. and New Line are moving forward with the reboot and they hired Tancharoen to direct.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

“Mortal Kombat is heading back to the big-screen.

New Line is hiring the filmmakers of the popular Mortal Kombat digital series, made earlier this year by corporate sibling Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, to take on a new adaptation of the classic 1990s fighting game. There is no actor attached and the new story will not serve as an extension of the game of digital series.”

Below is the short film he directed:
