NBC to pick up Office spin off

Posted on 26 January 2012 by TH3 No08

As the Office series is winding down and slowly losing steam to the point that they haven’t been picked up for next season word is coming down that NBC will be keeping the one of the main characters alive by spinning the series off and giving Rainn Wilson his own series. The spin off will purportedly take place in and around Shrute Farms and the life and times of Dwight Schrute. We may get an early look at the show during an episode of the Office later this season.

The Darkness 2 Launch Trailer

Posted on 26 January 2012 by TH3 No08

From K Games comes the trailer for The Darkness II, coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 7 in North America and February 10 internationally. I didn’t play the first Darkness and probably wont play this one either but it does look interesting. A word of warning though, the trailer is all cgi cinematics so we don’t really know what the game play will look like. We’ll have to wait and see actual game play when we get a real trailer closer to release date.

Based on the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II delivers a brutal and personal narrative as gamers take control of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction known as the Darkness.

The Darkness II is the sequel to the million unit-selling 2007 title, The Darkness, and brings a unique new combat mechanic through Quad-Wielding, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with thematic elements of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and maintains the stylistic violence visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique, true to its comic book origins.

Robert Rodat to rewrite Thor sequel

Posted on 12 January 2012 by TH3 No08

According to deadline.com Robert Rodat of Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot and the craptactular TNT’s Falling Skies fame is re-writing the sequel to last summer’s blockbuster THOR. Rodat is reworking a draft by Don Payne in the hopes to put the film into production later this year for release in 2013. I would hope that bringing in Rodat would take this film to the next level now that the awkward/semi-forced origin story is out of the way. He has a strong history of good writing that should go a long way to making this better in the long run.

First look at Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace

Posted on 09 January 2012 by TH3 No08

Here’s our first picture of Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace and Peter Sarsgaard as her husband Chuck Traynor (via entertainweekly) from the upcoming porn star biopic about the first female porn star to go mainstream. Lovelace was huge in the seventies with her breakthrough performance in the film “Deepthroat” and the film follows here life and documents her rise and fall. It’s sounds interesting but the only reason this is really news is because Lindsay Lohan was originally supposed to take on this role and this movie has now taken on a much higher profile since. The movie is currently in production and doesn

Darabont discusses what might have been with this season of The Walking Dead

Posted on 09 January 2012 by TH3 No08

There’s been an interesting/convoluted story floating around the internet for the last couple of weeks that has finally been addressed and brings to the fore front what might have been had Darabont never been fired from TWD. It started with a rumor regarding a supposed web series that would tell the back story of the dead soldier in the tank in episode 2 of season one into what would could have eventually become the season 2 opener. Here’s a video of Sam Witwer, the guy who played the dead soldier, discussing his part in what could have happened.

With all the rumors floating around Darabont felt it was important to address his adoring public through Quint from aintitcool.com. Here’s what he had to say regarding what could have been had he not been fired.

Dear Eric,

Sure, I

If your looking to get deeper into the mind of Lucas regarding what drove him to create the Star Wars universe than this is definitely something for you to check out.

New 30 second spot for The Woman In Black

Posted on 04 January 2012 by TH3 No08

Here’s another quick look at the upcoming Daniel Radcliffe film “The Woman In Black”. It’s the first film released starring Radcliffe since the Potter series concluded last fall and I imagine this role will go a long way in letting us know whether there’s a career in film for Daniel Radcliffe after the end of Harry Potter.. WIB is a remake of a British TV film from the seventies and is quite a different role that we are used to seeing Radcliffe in. Judging from this 30 second TV spot look for a lot of creepy imagery, foggy marshes and more that a few jump scares. “Woman in Black” hits theaters February 3, 2012.

Official Synopsis

The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

World War Z being split into a trilogy?

Posted on 03 January 2012 by TH3 No08

In one of the strangest stories of the day Paramount Pictures looks to be turning the Max Brooks book World War Z into a trilogy of films. WWZ stars Brad Pitt and is being directed by Marc Forster and according to the Los Angeles Times, both Forster and Paramount Pictures view World War Z not as a one-and-done but as a series of films. I’m not sure how this would work as the book is not really set up in the traditional narrative story but I could see it working if they were to treat the source material right. We’ll see when the first movie hits theaters later this year.

The Hobbit trailer is here!!!

Posted on 20 December 2011 by TH3 No08

In preparation for the release of this trailer which I knew was being released this weekend, my son and I sat down and watched The Two Towers today to get in the mood. It really did the trick. This trailer really puts you right back in The Shire like you never left. For a movie that’s not hitting theaters for another year there is an incredible amount of content here. Watch the trailer, then go back and watch the LOTR trilogy and prepare yourself for the adventure to come. I can’t wait!

The Dark Knight Rises official trailer

Posted on 20 December 2011 by TH3 No08

After sitting through about a week of bootlegged cam versions of this we now have an official release of the full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. I’m continually blown away by Christopher Nolan’s work as a director. He has reached a level of perfection in his work that few directors have even come close to and I expect TDKR to be his best film so far.
Things that stand out to me in this trailer are Bane’s voice. It seems eerily similar to the strained growl of Bale’ Batman voice. No coincidence there I’m sure. Next is Cat Woman and her parallel to the OWS in her mini monologue. There was a lot of talk during the New York stage of production that they would mirror the Wall Street protest and it looks like she is right in the middle of it. Third is the quick shot of Joseph Gordon Levitt. I’m curious what role he will play in this film as rumors have had him playing everything from Robin to Night Wing to a new version of the Joker. All will be revealed when it hits theaters next year. I can’t wait!

First Trailer For Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘The Dictator’ Features Megan Fox

Posted on 15 December 2011 by Christian

The first trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘The Dictator’ has been released.

The comedy, which sees the actor reunite with his ‘Borat’ and ‘Bruno’ director, tells “the heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppresses.

The trailer also features Megan Fox, John C. Reilly and Ben Kingsley, who joined the project this summer.

Fox especially has a funny line after a night with the dictator.

“What’s this, a ruby? Is that a joke? What am I, a Kardashian?”

Letterman Tells Scarlett Johansson: Nude Photos Were ‘Lovely Thing For Mankind

Posted on 13 December 2011 by Christian

During Scarlett Johansson’s appearance on the ‘Late Show’ last night, the topic turned to her now infamous nude photos.

“Yes, somebody stole my nudie photos and they were out there for all the world to see,” the 27-year-old replied when Letterman explained she had been the victim of a hacker.

“Which was, it was unfortunate,” she said as she burst out laughing. “I don’t know why I’m laughing, it was terrible!”

“I mean I understand personally how you’re looking at it,” interjected Letterman. “The guy could be in prison for a 100 years or so.”

“On the other hand, the way to look at it is… it was a lovely thing for mankind.” “But it’s illegal is the point,” he added. “I have to say it was quite shocking and creepy,” she explained.

“What was even more creepy was this person was obviously following me. My password was constantly changing for months and months.”

“I kept thinking why is my password always changing. The guy was really there constantly, sitting there all pasty and sweaty, pervy and weird and that’s the creepiest thing.” The actress said last month that the nude photos were actually intended for her then-husband Ryan Reynolds.

She is currently making the rounds to promote the film ‘We Bought a Zoo’.

Channing Tatum, who starred in the first film, is barely visible in the two minute trailer.

George Takei Tries To Broker Peace Between ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Star Trek’

Posted on 13 December 2011 by Christian

George Takei is stepping in as the broker of peace in the ongoing debate between ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Star Trek’.

Takei warns that if William Shatner and Carrie Fisher keep arguing, the winner will only be the ‘Twilight’”.

“Sci-Fi fans be warned,” says Takei. “There are no great stories, characters or profound life lessons to be had in ‘Twilight’”.

“No, in ‘Twilight’ the only message that rings through loud and clear is… ‘Does my boyfriend like me?”

“Let us band together to combat this mutual threat!”
