From K Games comes the trailer for The Darkness II, coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 7 in North America and February 10 internationally. I didn’t play the first Darkness and probably wont play this one either but it does look interesting. A word of warning though, the trailer is all cgi cinematics so we don’t really know what the game play will look like. We’ll have to wait and see actual game play when we get a real trailer closer to release date.
Based on the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II delivers a brutal and personal narrative as gamers take control of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction known as the Darkness.
The Darkness II is the sequel to the million unit-selling 2007 title, The Darkness, and brings a unique new combat mechanic through Quad-Wielding, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with thematic elements of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and maintains the stylistic violence visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique, true to its comic book origins.
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed this awesome new television commercial via the official World of Warcraft You Tube account, featuring none other than the legend himself, Chuck Norris as a Hunter. Check it out…
Chuck Norris didn’t break a sweat filming the newest World of Warcraft television spot. Instead, he made the director cry and then cooled himself with the tears.
This World of Warcraft television commercial debuted on CBS during the first half of the Chargers-Bears NFL game Sunday, November 20, 2011.
World of Warcraft® is an online role-playing experience set in the award-winning Warcraft universe. Being “Massively Multiplayer,” World of Warcraft allows thousands of players to interact within the same world. Whether adventuring together or fighting against each other in epic battles, players will form friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory.
Not sure how I feel about this just yet. The graphics look kind of weak compared to a lot of recently released games but these games are all about the story so I’ll give I’ll play it before I pass full judgement based on just a trailer. That being said this is certainly going to be one of the most anticipated games of the coming year. Let the full on hype train begin.
It’s being called by some the most accurate depiction of modern warfare ever in a video game and from watching this trailer it certainly looks like it’s living up to the hype. Battlefield 3 looks to bring an insane amount of varied game play to your pc or console on October 25th as you work a captured marine in some middle east hell hole before his time runs out.
Warner Bros. and New Line are moving forward with new Mortal Kombat film. Director Kevin Tancharoen, who worked on the popular web-series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, will finally get a chance to make the full-length feature film…
Kevin Tancharoen already expressed his big interest in Mortal Kombat universe, first by making that short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and then by directing a web-series with popular characters. Well, it seems all that work paid off, because Warner Bros. and New Line are moving forward with the reboot and they hired Tancharoen to direct.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
“Mortal Kombat is heading back to the big-screen.
New Line is hiring the filmmakers of the popular Mortal Kombat digital series, made earlier this year by corporate sibling Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, to take on a new adaptation of the classic 1990s fighting game. There is no actor attached and the new story will not serve as an extension of the game of digital series.”
Lionsgate has acquired movie rights to the smash hit, Dead Island, the Deep Silver video game about vacationers on an island paradise overrun by zombies. Story first reported by Deadline.
Last February, Deep Silver’s trailer for Dead Island tore through the video game industry like wildfire. The buzz has culminated into making Dead Island one of the most anticipated video games of 2011. The trailer actually had a cinematic quality to it and many theorized that the game would make a great movie before any details were known about the game. Since it’s release, the game has sold 2 million copies. There was some controversy as to who owned the rights to the film but that all appears to have been worked out.
Here’s what Liongate’s Joe Drake had to say:
“Like the hundreds of journalists and millions of fans who were so passionate and vocal about the Dead Island trailer, we too were awestruck. This is exactly the type of property we’re looking to adapt at Lionsgate, it’s sophisticated, edgy, and a true elevation of a genre that we know and love. It also has built in brand recognition around the world, and franchise potential.”
Dead Island is a first person horror action-adventure video game developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It is centered on the challenge of survival on a zombie-infested open world island with a major emphasis on melee combat. It was originally announced at E3 2006, but was pushed back to 2011. It was released on September 6, 2011 in North America and September 9, 2011 for PAL regions.
The game is set in the fictional island of Banoi, located off the coast of Papua New Guinea. The main characters wake up in the Palms Resort hotel to find the island attacked by zombies and mysteriously, they are immune to whatever is making people into zombies. As they try to find and help other survivors, they must also find a way to escape the island as well. The players go through a series of both main and side quests.
Last week we posted the first trailer for Rockstar Games Max Payne 3 and today we’re back with more as we present to you Max Payne 3 pop up edition. Check out the video and as you watch you’ll get lots of info and back story on the game with clickable links to more info.
One of the hardest parts of getting an MMA game to live up to it’s potential is getting the ground game right. My biggest complaint with the first two UFC Undisputed games was how easily it was to be submitted even when you knew it was coming. Well here’s a look at the newly renovated ground game and judge for yourself whether they have fixed the problems that plagued the previous games.
Check it out when it hits stores in January of 2012.
It’s been 9 years since the last Max Payne and by the looks of the trailer it’s been a rough go for Max. While hiding out in some South American hell hole he’s sucked back into some crime situation or other. It looks like they’ve gone away from the noire style of original game into a more modern Drakes Fortune style of storytelling. The bullet time is still there but the game does have a very different feel. Look for it in March of 2012.
Every since the first trailer for this game hit early this year the anticipation has been growing. FPS zombie shooters are huge and this looks to take it to the next level. Here’s the final trailer to convince you that this is a must by when it hits stores September 6, 2011.
I’m not a huge fan of FPS games but I did enjoy the first Resistance and though I never picked up the second one this games looks pretty amazing. If the actual game-play is anywhere close to what we see in these teaser trailers this could be game of the year material.
America is lost. 4 years after the end of Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli is in hiding from the Chimeran Menace with other survivors, including his new wife and young son.
But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with the opportunity to deliver a blow to the occupying Chimeran force, Capelli must leave his family and journey the harrowing road from Oklahoma to New York City. Along the way, he’ll encounter the remnants of humanity left in the aftermath of the brutal Chimeran invasion.
Earlier today Batman Arkham City and GameStop released this very cool photo on their facebook of some key art of the Joker. Very cool stuff and I’m digging the titan green dripping from his teeth. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.
Batman: Arkham Asylum may be my favorite super hero video game of all time but Arkham city may make a run to take it’s place on the top of my list with the list of villains being announced for the game. Mr. Freeze was announced as a villain today and now we get to take a look at what he will look like with his character trailer. Mr. Freeze joins Hugo Strange, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Two Face, and Cat Woman as the already announced villains in what could be the best game of 2011.
The first trailer featuring The Riddler from Batman: Arkham City has been released, giving us more ideas on how the villain will appear in the upcoming video game. Hit the jump to check it out!
The story for Arkham City takes place one year after the events of Arkham Asylum. Quincy Sharp, former warden of Arkham Asylum, has taken credit for stopping the Joker, and used that notoriety to become mayor of Gotham City. As neither Arkham nor Blackgate Prison are in any condition to hold inmates, Sharp buys out a large section of Gotham’s slums and arms the perimeter with private military contractors from a group called Tyger in order to create “Arkham City”. The prisoners are brought into Arkham City and are given free rein, as long as they do not attempt escape. To oversee the city, Sharp uses psychiatrist Hugo Strange who appears to have his own secret agenda for the city. Batman maintains a vigil over the city, worried that the situation may get out of hand. Part of the setup for “Arkham City” was contained in plans in a hidden room in Sharp’s office in Arkham Asylum.
What do you think of this? Sound off your opinions on the usual spot below!
Still featuring the voice of Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Tasia Valenza,Wally Wingert, as well as new additions of Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, and Stana Katic, Batman: Arkham City is set to be released on October 18, later this year!
I didn’t exactly love Homefront but did find it relatively entertaining. Apparently there were a lot of complaints about it not being long enough and the online play was very buggy but I never got that far. I played it for a few weeks and traded it in for something else while it still had good trade in value. That hasn’t stopped THQ from moving ahead with it’s plans for a sequel. Here’s what Danny Bilson had to say regarding future plans for the sequel.
“Everything we learned from [the original] you’ll see executed in other games going forward, and including that franchise going forward. We’ll have some really interesting announcements in the future about the future of that brand.”
“I put a lot of myself into that effort on that game. I learned a lot. I still think it’s creatively a fantastic game, a great place to go. The environmental storytelling is excellent. The marketing was wonderful. That brand resonated with a lot of people emotionally.
We sold through a million units in a week. That’s huge on a brand new IP.”
“We’re growing. We’re learning. We’re applying learnings. That game taught us tons. It also taught us some really good things. It was an example of the new way we market core in THQ. That was the first large campaign executed under my leadership with great marketers unchained. We succeeded really well.”

I’m a long time player of the Silent Hill series, I have played them all and enjoyed them very much so it excites me to see a new one on the way. Check out this creepy trailer for the new Silent Hill: Downpour…
Silent Hill: Downpour follows Murphy Pendleton, a prisoner who is stranded in the town of Silent Hill after the prison transport vehicle he is being transported with careens off a road. The plot’s events take place in the southeastern region of Silent Hill, which has never been explored in previous games in the series, and the plot will be unrelated to previous installments.

This is one of the bigger game trailers to be dropped at this weeks 2011 E3 conference and it looks pretty bad ass. I know its only cinematics but the idea of squad based zombie killing is very exciting to many gamers. If they can deliver like they have with past RE games this could be game of the year…
Operation Raccoon City is being developed by Slant Six, the crew who has made a name for themselves with the SOCOM series. Like SOCOM, this new Resident Evil will be squad-based and allow for online play. Capcom is expected to make an announcement concerning the precise release date of the game during their E3 presentation.
