First game footage revealed for the Nintendo 3DS version of Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, and it actually looks fun!
I haven’t been able to find this video on the site, so I thought I would post it for our CBM and video game fans. The Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters video game is making its way to almost every gaming platform known to man, and I found this video yesterday that highlights the Nintendo 3DS version of the game. While not as beefy as the next-gen consoles, the portable version looks like it could be quite fun…
In Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, players will fill the role of gifted pilot Hal Jordan, the first human Green Lantern, and create an arsenal of ring constructs and take flight in outer space and beyond to restore intergalactic order. Players will use the Power Ring to build an array of weapons from green energy to defeat the Manhunters
The internet is running wild with rumors regarding the IPad 3 and whether or not it will have glasses free 3d capability or not. Apparently developers have been working like mad to come up with content for the future release of the IPad and Hollywood producers are clamoring for more 3d content. This could very well be the death knell for the already much maligned Nintendo 3ds. Apple Releasing technology that not only plays games in glass free 3d as well as movies would certainly be a game changer for Nintendo and probably push them out of a market they probably weren’t well prepared to get into in the first place. From it’s release the Nintendo 3ds has been plagued with complaints of not only eye strain and technical problems with the games but a general lack of good content beyond the basic 3d gimmick. I would hope that Apple would be a little more prepared and do a little more testing on it’s 3d technology before releasing it to the general public to avoid such embarrassing issues.
After being taken down weeks ago to prevent furthur cyber attacks on it’s systems, Playstation Network is planning to return this week with an all new system full of new goodies as well as a few gifts to make it worth your while when you return. Personally I can’t wait to see what they have in store. Info below…
We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available.
The troubles for the PSN continue after several outages due to the “anonymous” hacker attacks and now Amazon’s cloud server issues they have decided to rebuild the system from the ground up adding better security. Hopefully this secures them for the long run as they have definitely had their issues over the past months.
Apparently JJ Abrams is the most innovative marketing genius of his generation because he has now come up with a whole new way to market his movies. For his upcoming Super 8 film he has teamed with the creators of Portal 2 to create an interactive game level where you can actually walk around and explore the train that wrecks in the trailer for their movie. Very interesting stuff with lots of little tidbits of information just waiting to be explored… If you drop $60 bucks for Portal 2. Or you can watch it here…
The internet when apeshit for the trailer for this game when it hit a few months back and the hype train went off the rails for this first person zombie shooter meets GTA. Now and interesting bit of news from IGN. It look like the box art for the North American release of the game will be censored. The Dead Island logo will be changed to remove a zombie hanging from a palm tree and replace him with a stumbling zombie who is not nearly as offensive (apparently). No real reason was given for the censorship other than this statement given by Deep Silver…
Deep Silver told IGN that the box art will be modified in North America, however it will go unchanged within the title screen of the game and on the boxes of the European copies of the game.
Have a look at the before and after versions of these two logos.
In this recent note from Evil Avatar Forum its said that Ubisoft has been doing research for possibles Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon movies. Hit the jump to find out!
This recent post on the Evil Avatar Forum indicates what seems to be a Ubisoft research for a possible Assassin’s Creed movie and also a Ghost Recon movie!
A reader from Evil Avatar just sent me a survey he received, indicating that Ubisoft may be considering creating a movie based on the Ghost Recon and Assassin’s Creed licenses. The survey asks several questions regarding viewing habits of movies, what your favorite movies, actors and directors are, then goes into a whole piece regarding movies based on video games.
Then the survey gets more specific, asking questions regarding what the submitter would want out of a movie based upon Ghost Recon, specifically where the movie would fall in line of the overall Ghost Recon timeline and which special Recon teams would be the focus.
Following the Ghost Recon section, the survey asks a similar question regarding what the submitter would want to see out of an Assassin’s Creed movie, including exploring Ezio and Subject 16 further, as well as possibly focusing on a new assassin.
The latest UK edition of the Official Playstation Magazine seemingly reveals that the studio behind the Spider-Man series of games are working on one for X-Men: First Class! Check it out…
While reading an article in the latest issue of the UK edition of OPM (Official Playstation Magazine) about Activision’s decision to cancel planned releases of future Guitar Hero titles and True Crime: Hong Kong.
When they went on to talk about the franchises that the company would now be focusing on, I was more than a little surprised to come across the following:
“Activision has also been keen to point to its other properties like, erm, X-Men: First Class, Spider-Man and Transformers 3.”
X-Men: First Class!?! Well, that’s the first I’ve heard about them planning a video game adaptation of the upcoming prequel! It’s not hard to believe that they’re holding off on revealing the game when the adaptations for Thor and Green Lantern (both out at around the same time) have so far only provided us with a handful of screenshots and a couple of brief trailers.
I’m not sure about you guys, but I for one would love to play as Magneto, Beast and a few of the other character being introduced in the movie! With production on the movie being fairly rushed, it’s also a possibility that the game will be released alongside the DVD and Blu-Ray.

Rockstar released box art for one of it’s most anticipated games of 2010 and now 2011 today and I’m not super impressed with it.??? It’s pretty basic fare with nothing special going on. Certainly wouldn’t grab my eye if I was perusing the game stores and came across it. Then again it’s whats under the hood that counts and this one looks pretty good. check out the trailer below.
