Director Zack Snyder Lined Up For Superman Reboot

Zack Snyder has been chosen to direct the new Superman movie, which will see Christopher Nolan producing for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.
The competition for the job was rumored to be intense, with Nolan meeting with a number of high-profile directors as Tony Scott, Darren Aronofsky and Matt Reeves.
However, whether you love his visual style or not, the addition of Snyder into the fold definitely ensures the film will be filled with compelling visuals, slick on-screen style and a lot more action than in previous Bryan Singer feature.
The studio is looking to Nolan’s vision to create a successful Superman franchise after he single-handedly saved Batman. He’s teamed up with David Goyer for a new Superman reboot.
Snyder says he’s “psyched” about having the chance to direct one of the most loved superheroes.
“In the initial meetings, he’s been super-amazingly smart and also amazingly kind, filmmaker-to-filmmaker,” he says of Nolan. “I have great respect for him. The process has been amazing so far, and it looks like nothing but pluses.”
“They’re just super-smart, super-educated about the character. It was an amazing conversation and it went from there. I’ve been a fan of the character for awhile. It’s really a treat and delight to do this.”
“Think of where Batman was when Chris took that on earlier in the decade. I think Superman is in a very similar place, in terms of being available and in terms of his relationship to where the culture was at that time. Superman is right there. He’s the king of the superheroes.”
As for Brandon Routh, who played the Man of Steel in 2006, he will likely be replaced as Nolan and Goyer look to start with a clean slate.
