Josh Brolin attached to star in Oldboy remake

There’s been a lot talk lately about Josh Brolin starring in Spike Lee’s remake of the classic film Oldboy and now it is official. Brolin is attached to the film and will be playing the lead character of Oh Daesu from the original. Also rumored to be taking the role of the evil counterpart Woo-Jin Lee is Christian Bale. These two actors combined with Spike Lee’s talent for story telling could make for a very dynamic retelling of the original story. The only concern I would have for this remake is how much of the story would have to changed for American audiences for it to be more palatable. There’s a lot of violence and the twist at the end of the movie will definitely be reworked or this movie will not make a dollar in American theaters and that’s super sad. Check out the trailer for the original for a taste of what’s to come (hopefully).
