According to deadline.com Robert Rodat of Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot and the craptactular TNT’s Falling Skies fame is re-writing the sequel to last summer’s blockbuster THOR. Rodat is reworking a draft by Don Payne in the hopes to put the film into production later this year for release in 2013. I would hope that bringing in Rodat would take this film to the next level now that the awkward/semi-forced origin story is out of the way. He has a strong history of good writing that should go a long way to making this better in the long run.
There was a lot of back and forth going on before the original film between JCVD and Sylvester Stallone to get JCVD to cameo but apparently Van Danme wanted too much money or whatever. No one really knows how much of that is true however it looks like he could be joining Chuck Norris in the sequel to The Expendables at least according to the website for Millennium Films. Both men are listed among the cast on the in development page for The Expendables 2. It will be interesting to see if Stallone can recreate the magic of the first one with this cast or if the sheer number of egos will derail this project. I’m voting on the latter.
Here’s the synopsis…
The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They’re not the only ones who want blood. Tool
With the massive opening weekend of The Hangover 2 already putting it on the fast track to being the highest grossing R Rated Comedy of all time it should come as no surprise that The Hangover 3 is already being fast tracked. According to Tracking Board, Hangover 2 co-screenwriter Craig Mazin has already begun working on the third Hangover flick, with the promise from director Todd Phillips that they would not follow the same template of the first two films. This is certainly good news as the major complaint I had with part 2 (as well as most other movie reviewers) was the rehashing of certain elements from the first film to a lesser effect. If they take this film in a completely different direction and are still able to keep the same level of funny that was brought to the first two, they can keep making this movies for as long as they feel like it.
Kung Fu Panda 2 had a lot going against it before I ever even took my seat in the crowded theater full of kids and parents eager to get an early look at what’s sure to be a summer blockbuster. I wasn’t a huge fan of 2008′s Kung Fu Panda when I first saw it and the subsequent viewings as my children watched it relentlessly over the summer of 2010 did little to change my opinion of it. I can certainly understand the appeal of it. It’s got a cuddly panda who learns Kung Fu and goes from being a fat goof to being the Dragon Warrior over the course of 2 short hours or so. What’s not to like about that? Jack Black, that’s what. And Angelina Jolie. And the
I’m not gonna lie to you, I was a bit hesitant to watch this. Around here we hold The Hangover in such high regard that I was kind of preparing for disappointment. Fortunately this disappointment did not come to pass… It is epic, it is funny, it has a weenus sucking monkey joke. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing on at least 2 occasions. Let the epic journey begin…

Lots of never before seen footage and interviews from the cast including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson talking about the film and what people have to look forward to. Hopefully it’s not as boring as Deathly Hollows 1. They’ve got a long ways to go to make up for that boring sack of rocks…

I’ve been looking forward to seeing this movie since it was announced. The first one is one of my favorite movies and not just because it’s super awesome and funny but also because it features 3 of my favorite actors as well. I’ll let you figure out who they are but here’s a hint, They are all 3 featured in the trailer below. There’s not a lot going on in this trailer but it is a teaser so just enjoy being teased…
This week on the noobnews podcast, Richard and Christian discuss Joseph Gordon Levitt joining the cast of The Dark Knight Rises, the new segment “The Comic Break” brought to you by comicbreak.com, as well as all the Superman casting news you can fit in a pair of red tights. All this and much much more on this episode of The Noob News…
Here’s this weeks rundown… Quick Hits…
Joseph Gordon levitt signed on to Dark Night rises, who would you like to see him play? no riddler or joker in this movie, i could see him as a young dick grayson perhaps?.
Will ferrell will be doing a 4 episode stint as a saber manager helping to fill in for michael scott when he exits the show
later this season,
Here’s a couple of cool screen shots from The Hangover 2 featuring a dishevled Ed Helms, a nearly bald Zack Gafanakis and a sweaty (but still cool in his sunglasses) Bradley Cooper. The plot of this movie has been held pretty close to the chest so far but it looks to involve a monkey on a wire (see second picture). This is on my list of must see movie for 2011 and if it’s half as funny as the first one it will be awesome.
