Anne Hathaway To Play Barbarella In Upcoming Remake?

Posted on 10 December 2010 by Christian

The actress is apparently “attached” to star in the remake of Barbarella, although some bad news about a director might mean we wont see this for a while…

After progress was seemingly moving forward with actress Rose McGowan and director Robert Rodrigeuz a few years back, it looks like Universal are now looking for another beautiful actress to step into the titular role of Barbarella in their remake of the 1968 sci-fi classic. Pajiba says that Anne Hathaway is currently “attached” to the project, but this comes with the disheartening news that the film doesn’t have a director at the moment.

“A. Hathaway latest “attached” to Barbarella. Project currently is without a director.”

Here is a synopsis for the original movie which starred Jane Fonda in the title role:

A voluptuous outer space agent travels to another galaxy in search of a missing inventor in this science fiction send-up. Barbarella (Jane Fonda), an interstellar representative of the united Earth government in the 41st century, is dispatched to locate scientist Durand Durand, whose positronic ray, if not recovered, could signal the end of humanity. Outfitted in an array of stunning Star Trek/Bond girl outfits and cruising around in a plush, psychedelic spaceship, Barbarella travels to the Tau Seti system and promptly crash-lands.

What do you guys think? Is Hathaway a good choice for the role? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

Love and Other Drugs: Review

Posted on 24 November 2010 by mpena

Love And Other Drugs is about a pharmaceutical rep/cocksman played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who reps Viagra back during the great boner boom of the late 1990′s. He falls for an eccentric artist/nymphomaniac with Parkinson’s disease, played by the often naked Anne Hathaway. The film itself feels a lot like an erection that has gone on too long. After about 113 minutes it becomes painful and pretty much all you can do it sit and wait for it to go away. It’s not all bad. There is a very “R” rated romantic comedy going on here and for the most part it fairly entertaining. But the film dances around plots turns that you see coming a mile away. It won’t just get to the point. I’m not spoiling anything by telling you that the two lovers somehow make it work in the end. We knew that was going to happen. Don’t believe me? Just ask the trailer…

OK…so you get it, right? That’s pretty much all the major beats in two and a half minutes. Imagine that trailer stretched out to about two hours with some fairly graphic sex scenes and lots Anne Hathaway naked mixed in and BAM you’ve got yourselves a Thanksgiving

Holy Breaking Batman News Batman!!!

Posted on 12 November 2010 by TH3 No08

Breaking news from Deadline Hollywood regarding the future of the Batman Franchise. It was announced earlier today that there would be two female leads in the forthcoming Batman sequel, one playing the love interest, the other playing a female villain.

This news opens up a ton of options for who the villain could be, anyone from Cat Woman to Poison Ivy to Harley Quinn (and a ton more, check Wikipedia for a detailed list). Personally I’d love to see a Harley Quinn revenge story line for the death of her lover/partner in crime.
