The Dark Knight Rises official trailer

Posted on 20 December 2011 by TH3 No08

After sitting through about a week of bootlegged cam versions of this we now have an official release of the full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. I’m continually blown away by Christopher Nolan’s work as a director. He has reached a level of perfection in his work that few directors have even come close to and I expect TDKR to be his best film so far.
Things that stand out to me in this trailer are Bane’s voice. It seems eerily similar to the strained growl of Bale’ Batman voice. No coincidence there I’m sure. Next is Cat Woman and her parallel to the OWS in her mini monologue. There was a lot of talk during the New York stage of production that they would mirror the Wall Street protest and it looks like she is right in the middle of it. Third is the quick shot of Joseph Gordon Levitt. I’m curious what role he will play in this film as rumors have had him playing everything from Robin to Night Wing to a new version of the Joker. All will be revealed when it hits theaters next year. I can’t wait!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Calls Director Christopher Nolan “A Master Storyteller”!

Posted on 13 September 2011 by Christian

Still refusing to let any details slip about his role as John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, the actor has instead praised Christopher Nolan’s directing and storytelling, promising that fans are in for a treat…
So far, all we know about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character in The Dark Knight Rises is that he’s a police officer, with any additional details we know of having come from what we’ve spotted in the various set photos and videos. (all of which have only served to make him all the more mysterious) So, when USA Today caught up with him in Toronto recently, what could he reveal about his role in the movie? “”Nothing,” he said.

Oh. Thankfully, he did go on to describe Christopher Nolan’s style of directing and storytelling, praising him and promising fans that all they need to do is have faith in him to deliver an amazing movie. “I can tell you that one of the things I admire most about Mr. Nolan is that he understands that the story begins before the movie does. He’s already telling the story that he’s got cooked up. He’s a master storyteller. Every little bit of information he lets out, he does it at the proper time.”

“Far be it for me to preempt the rhythm of his. I love that people are excited about it. I guarantee, as an audience member, one will have the best experience if one just trusts him,” he added.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra’s Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

Official Website For The Dark Knight Rises Now Online

Posted on 20 May 2011 by Christian

Unfortunately not featuring anything other than a black screen and some sort of sound clip of music and some very Gladiator styled chanting, but the official site is now online and active…

The official website for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is now officially online and unfortunately it features almost literally nothing. The last couple days the site has been going through different stages 404′ing, 403′ing, redirecting to “thedarkknightrises.warnerbros.com” and at one point redirecting people directly to the Warner Bros. website.

When you first open the page you’re brought to a completely black page and you can hear some sort of sound clip of chanting among some other noises/music. It sounds very Gladiator like in my opinion. If you click the black screen you’ll be brought directly to the sound clip. The voice is saying something however I cant quite make out what it is so maybe you guys will have better luck with it.

Be sure to check back for updates on the site as I’m sure it wont be much longer now.
[Click the image below to be taken to the site]

*UPDATE*

Thanks to the amazing detective skills of the people over at the SHH forums, we know a little more about the sound file. Someone put it through an audio editor and clicked “Show Spectrum” and here are the results.

It’s a hastag for Twitter that reads #TheFireRises

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, & Michael Caine, and is expected to hit theaters July 20th 2012.

TDKR Rumor: Bane’s Origin & “Power” Revealed?

Posted on 20 May 2011 by Christian

Get your salt ready! This one relates to Bane(Tom Hardy) and how he MAY become involved with The League Of Shadows, as well as the direction director Christopher Nolan could be taking with the character’s enhanced abilities from the comics..
This comes from IMDB, and the only reason I post is because it sounds plausible as the direction Nolan could go with the character. Plausible, not PROBABLE. Again I only post to gauge opinion on whether this could be a good way to go about utilizing Bane as something of an unstoppable opponent for Batman.

Bane is discovered after Ra’s burns down a village with the league of shadows — every citizen completely wiped out — they watch as the mayhem ensues.

However, before leaving, a young boy rises from a BURING PIT, the boy (young bane) is covered in flames.

Apparently, he doesn’t even flinch which makes Ra’s intrigued.

They take him in and teach him everything he knows So basically,

Bane’s only real advantage is that he has a genetic mutation that makes him impervious to pain. No super strength or chemical enhancers (tht i was made aware of)

The poster claims to have come by the information from a PA as the set was being locked down. It ties in with the pictures we have seen of the “Lazarus Pit”, and is imo a good way to have Bane match up to Batman without getting into the whole enhanced Venom strength business from the comics. The “genetic mutation” could well be simply a variation on a (real) disorder that kills nerve endings and thus numbs pain. The bit about being covered in flames is strange though, unless that’s how they mean to explain Bane’s use of a mask? I’m not sure Nolan would be keeping Hardy behind a mask, or full of burn makeup for the course of the movie though.

What do you guys think, is this a possibility?

‘The Dark Knight’ Is On Facebook.

Posted on 08 March 2011 by Christian

Warner Bros. Has recently announced a joint partnership with Facebook in which they will streaming movies on the site, starting with ‘The Dark Knight’…

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ is coming to Facebook via a new on-demand service being set up through a partnership with the WB and Facebook.

Facebook users will pay for the video with 30 Facebook credits which is equal to roughly $3 and you’ll still have the ability to pause the movie, go full-screen, and continue with all your regular Facebook uses such as “Liking” your friends annoying status updates.

The downside is the video will only be available for purchase for a limited time (48 hours) but during that time you’ll be able to watch it as many times as you want. I’m not sure if the 48 hours thing is just a trial run or if that will be the going rate once the service is fully set up.

For those of you wishing to watch ‘The Dark Knight’ on Facebook, the link is

Alcon/WB Want Christopher Nolan For Their Blade Runner Spin Offs

Posted on 04 March 2011 by Christian

We have an update on yesterday’s news that Alcon Entertainment (a WB subsidiary) has bought the rights to Blade Runner. Apparently Chris Nolan is in the studio’s sights to direct when ans IF any movies even happen..

I have to say, I got a bit of a scare when I thought that a Blade Runner reboot was going to be forced upon us. But it turns out thing aren’t quite so bad, and potentially good! Original producer and rights holder Bud Yorkin wouldn’t sell the rights for a remake of Ridley Scott’s classic, only the rights to make spin offs. So that means sequels and or prequels.

In an interview with io9, the gents that purchased the rights Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove name check Christopher Nolan as the man they would like to see bring their new vision of Philip K Dick’s story to life..

Kate Winslet Also In Talks For 2nd Female Lead In TDKR

Posted on 21 February 2011 by Christian

In the same article from THR that confirms Marion Cotillard’s involvement with Christopher Nolans upcoming Batman threequel, the site also mentions Kate Winslet’s name..

I guess this one slipped by us! But along with Marion Cotillard THR mentions some other ladies possibly in line for a role in The Dark Knight Rises. Two of them have popped up before in connection with the movie, but Miss Winslet has not..

Nolan had been focusing on finding the romantic lead for Christian Bale in recent weeks, reading and meeting with several actresses, including Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts, according to insiders.

Both Watts and Weisz have been brought up as contenders for the role before but, along with Winslet, it appears they may still in the running, although apparently the role is Cotillard’s if she wants it. But she is expected to give birth in May when the film goes into production. Still nothing solid on the character these actresses are up for. The popular theory is Talia Al Ghul, but looking at the other contenders and the fact that we already have one female villain in Anne Hathaway’s Catw..uh, Selina Kyle, I reckon it’s either Sarah Essen or Vicki Vale. Of course there are lots of other possibilities. The character may not have even appeared in the comics before. What do you think?

The Dark Knight Rises Script Expected Monday

Posted on 05 December 2010 by Christian

Thats right, Christopher Nolan is expected to send his script for “The Dark Knight Rises” to Warner Bros. TOMOMORROW.

This is pretty big news, David S. Cohen of Variety is reporting. During a recent sit down with Christopher Nolan, the director revealed that his script for “The Dark Knight Rises”, his third and final Batman film, would be due Monday, December 6th (TOMORROW).

Since the script is being handed in very soon, should we expect a press release soon confirming the villains/story? Obviously things will take time to finalize, but don’t be surprised if we started hearing some official news on Nolan’s final Batman movie by early January.
