Eight 80′s Movies Your Children Need to See

It’s hard for us to believe that the 1980′s began over thirty years go. At least, it’s hard for me to accept that notion. Back then, a lot of us were kids, and these days, a lot of you have children. As parents, it is your job to make sure that your child has the best nourishment, and that includes both food and media consumption. You can’t let your children watch any old crap, which is why its important to pick and choose carefully.

That’s why I have eight recommendations, eight movies from the 80′s that helped define our childhoods and teen years, and if they were good enough for us, they are good enough for our kids.

ChristmasGeddon: 10 Things YOU Probably Don

Oh hey, didn’t see you there!

I’m here today to talk about Christmas… or “X-Mas” as its known in the darkest circles of Mall Advertising Planners. Now everyone has certain shows, or movies that they LOVE to watch to help get them in the mood for when the Pie-Baking-Season rolls around, but…

What to watch, hmmm? A Christmas Story? Rankin/Bass stop-motion specials? It’s A Wonderful Life perhaps? No Sir! Not me!

Because I’m all broken and messed-up inside, my holly jolly favorites are of a slightly… different variety. Join me, won’t you, as we take a load of tinsel in the face from a jolly, fat man that we can only hope is Saint Nick…

#10 – The Ref (1994)

This delightfully pessimistic film is about a man who holds a screwed-up, bickering family hostage when his planned robbery goes all NUTTY, and they’re on a colission course with wackyness! It’s nice to see Denis Leary when he was funny, still fresh from dry-humping jokes out of Bill Hicks’ corpse. This is the most normal Christmas Comedy I’ll admit to watching, as most other movies that can be described as a “Christmas Comedy” make me want to tear my own eyes out, and fill the empty sockets with broken ornaments.
