Full length trailer for The Hunger Games arrives

Posted on 14 November 2011 by TH3 No08

We get our first look at the full length trailer today and I’m still a bit torn on how I feel about this film. It seems very derivative of The Japanese film Battle Royale from just a cursory glance. I don’t know much about the back story but I’ll do my best to go into in with an open mind.

Synopsis

Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister’s place for the latest match.

Adam Sandler bad movie infographic

Posted on 14 November 2011 by TH3 No08

Over the years Adam Sandler has made 2 different types of movies, movies that make money and movies that don’t make money. It should come as no surprise to you that the amount of money that an Adam Sandler movie makes is directly proportional to how awful the movie is for the people watching it. So terrible movie = lots of money, great movie = no box office business. Check out this cool infographic from ScreenJunkies.com that gives you an inside look at what movies have made Adam Sandler money and why he keeps making bad ones.

Ridley Scott to direct Blade Runner sequel

Posted on 04 November 2011 by TH3 No08

Ridley Scott confirmed with the Wall Street Journal Blog Speakeasy that he will indeed be returning to the scene of one of his most beloved sci-fi films, Blade Runner. I’m not a huge fan of the film but I can certainly appreciate what it meant to a generation of sci-fi fans as well as the huge impact it has had on so many films. The challenge now is whether they can recapture that magic and live up to the hype and scrutiny that will surely come.

Uwe Boll’s Zombie Massacre has a trailer…

Posted on 04 November 2011 by TH3 No08

Sometimes I think this guy gets entirely too much hate for what he does. Then sometimes I totally think he deserves it. I’m a bit torn about this trailer. It’s got some very cool music and the cinematography isn’t bad. Even the zombie makeup is pretty original and interesting but then he goes and throws some of the worst special effect shots that I’ve ever seen in a trailer out there. It’s based on a video game and just on his track record with video game adaptations I’m pretty sure this is gonna be an awful movie.

The Poster Wall: The Woman In Black

Posted on 21 October 2011 by TH3 No08

In his first post Harry Potter role Daniel Radcliffe is going horror in a remake of a British made for tv film. The trailer looks kind of creepy but I’m really digging this poster. What did they see? Why are their eyes scratched out? Who dresses their kids like that? We’ll find out soon enough…

SYNOPSIS:

In this supernatural thriller, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a widowed lawyer whose grief has put his career in jeopardy, is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric. But upon his arrival, it soon becomes clear that everyone in the town is keeping a deadly secret. New Trailer for The Muppets

Posted on 13 October 2011 by TH3 No08

The Muppets Movie looks better and better with each trailer. I thought the early themed trailers were ok but once they got into the actual stories and characters it looks really entertaining. Look for it to hit the theaters just in time for the holidays, 11-23-2011.

Red Band Trailer for 11-11-11

Posted on 13 October 2011 by TH3 No08

Darren Bousman has a bit of a spotty track record with me. I can certainly appreciate what he was trying to do with the Saw sequels but it fell short the longer the series went on but I really enjoyed his remake of Mother’s Day. Here it looks like he’s gone completely overboard with the crazy in 11-11-11. Check out the trailer and tell me what you think.

Synopsis:

After the tragic death of his wife and child, famed American author Joseph Crone travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain, to reunite with his estranged brother, Samuel, and dying father, Richard. However, fate has a different plan for Joseph as his life becomes plagued with strange happenings and the constant sightings of the number 11. Michael Beihn stars in The Divide

Posted on 11 October 2011 by TH3 No08

I’m a sucker for end of the world / post apocolyptic movies and this one looks right up my alley. Michael Beihn is back to star in this dark tale of a group of survivors locked in the basement of apartment building who must struggle to survive. Early reviews are saying this film is super intense and very dark. Looks promising.

When a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York, eight strangers take refuge in the basement of their apartment building, a converted fallout shelter designed by their paranoid superintendent Mickey. With just three connecting rooms it’s barely big enough, but with stockpiles of food and water, the group are at least safe from the horrors outside, and they settle in and attempt to fathom the catastrophe that has ended the lives of so many of their loved ones.

With twists and turns throughout, and no way of knowing who will make it out alive, THE DIVIDE is an action packed psychological thriller that combines ‘Assault on Precinct 13′ with ‘Lord of the Flies’. To survive the end of the world, you first must survive each other…

New Trailer for Sleeping Beauty

Posted on 11 October 2011 by TH3 No08

This is not the Sleeping Beauty that you grew up watching or reading about. This is a dark story of a college student drawn into prostitution and drug use in a super secretive society. I haven’t heard a lot about it but the cinematography in the trailer looks spectactular. Check it out when it hits theaters December 2, 2011.

Universal remaking Scarface again?

Posted on 22 September 2011 by TH3 No08

If there’s ever been a reason to rise up in the streets and burn Hollywood to the ground this is surely one of them. Universal Pictures is so happy with the sales of the recent Scarface Blu-Ray release that they have decided to remake it again for the third time. Yes, a third time. According to Deadline the new version would be an amalgamation of the previous two films focusing on both the immigrants journey to the US as well as the subsequent rise to power through the drug trade. While the Scarface of the 80′s was no blockbuster it has over the years become a cult hit that has influenced both filmmakers and musicians from all walks of life and has sold well over 10 million DVDs. That translates to a lot of money.

Hollywood’s insistence to continually remake films over and over again and not take chance never ceases to amaze me. There are no shortage of great ideas out there, just a real lack of guts on Hollywood’s part in refusing to take a chance on them.

Posted on 21 September 2011 by TH3 No08

Check out this cool trailer for Juan of the Dead, a Cuban made zombie movie that looks to be heavily influenced by both the early works of George Romero as well as the more modern Shaun of the Dead form Edgar Wright. Cuba’s first horror film was Written and directed by Alejandro Bruges and takes place 50 years after the Cuban Revolution, where the island is overrun by zombies the government swears were sent by the United States. Look for this at this years Austin Film Festival.
