The Smurfs trailer has arrived…

Posted on 16 March 2011 by TH3 No08

This “gem” slipped by my collective awareness as it apparently hit the internetz on Monday. I don’t have a lot to say about it other that it looks pretty awful. Like a mix between those terrible Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunk movies. Just bad…

Rango serves early notice to all Best Animated Oscar contenders…

Posted on 04 March 2011 by TH3 No08

I was raised on the Hollywood western. While my friends were off playing Star Wars and Indiana Jones I was playing Rio Bravo and The Rifleman. My hero was always the man in the white hat that never failed to save the day and always got the girl. I also loved classic comedy westerns such as The Shakiest Gun in the West, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and The Great Race. Their comedic twist on the movies I had grown to love so much as a child kept me smiling on the worst of days. Perhaps that

Beastly lives up to it’s name…

Posted on 04 March 2011 by TH3 No08

Before we get into my review of Beastly let me ask you a few questions. First, are you a female age 13 to 24? Second, have you read or watched any chapter of the Twilight saga and enjoyed it? Third, are you so desperate to find a partner that you would lock a girl you are infatuated with in your attic and read her poetry until she falls madly in love with your grotesque face? If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you should probably stop reading now because I

LA Noire box art relased…

Posted on 24 February 2011 by TH3 No08

Rockstar released box art for one of it’s most anticipated games of 2010 and now 2011 today and I’m not super impressed with it.??? It’s pretty basic fare with nothing special going on. Certainly wouldn’t grab my eye if I was perusing the game stores and came across it. Then again it’s whats under the hood that counts and this one looks pretty good. check out the trailer below.

Set amid the violence and corruption of post-World War II Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller that seamlessly blends crime-solving, clue-finding, car chases and shoot-outs with revolutionary new interrogation-based gameplay that will allow players to read characters’ emotions in order to reveal the truth. Players will take on the role of Cole Phelps, a decorated war veteran, who rises through the ranks of the LAPD by solving a series of gruesome murders and other crimes that bring him face-to-face with the dark heart of Los Angeles during Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Sweet Tooth # 18

Comic Break Review: Sweet Tooth # 18

Sponsored by: www.comicbreak.com

Written by JEFF LEMIRE

Art and Cover by JEFF LEMIRE

After the explosive conclusion of “Animal Armies,” Jepperd and his new traveling companions begin a long trek north in search of answers in this stand-alone issue. But as the first snowfall of the year hits, mistrust and fear threaten to tear the group apart before they even get started!

There is often a strange disconnect when picking up a comic for the first time, especially when you’re jumping in 18 issues deep. With no real sense of where the story is headed or where it’s been I often find myself grasping at the smallest detail hoping it will lead me to a connection with a character that will draw me into the story and begin that relationship I was looking for in comics to begin with. With some books it’s a struggle to find my footing and if I reach the staples with out finding that connection, I’m pretty sure it’s a lost cause and time to move on but occasionally I come across that rare comic that grabs you with nothing but the cover itself and won’t let go. It’s just a little peek into what’s in store but it grabs me none the less and I can’t help but delve into it and that was the case with Sweet Tooth #18.

Sweet Tooth #18 picks up with Gus (The Boy) and Tommy Jeppard (The Big Man) leading a group of survivors along a desolate road in search of the mythical place called Alaska in the hopes for a better life in post apocalyptic America. There was a terrible plague at some point in the past leaving the world a cold and dangerous place and these characters are looking for a sliver of hope in this dark world. As the travel the road searching for this land of new hope, there is a lot of tension between the characters of the group. Past acts of betrayal have left many in the group

Kevin Smith turns Sundance on it’s head…

Posted on 24 January 2011 by TH3 No08

There was a lot of hype and hyperbole leading up to Kevin Smith’s premiere of Red State at Sundance and all that quickly became an afterthought when Smith told Hollywood to go fuck itself and bought his own distribution right for 20$. Smith had announced earlier in the year that he would auction of the rights to his movie directly after the premiere and drew a ton of interest for what was sure to be a public spectacle and did not disappoint.

When can you see Red State? Well if you’re willing to shell out anywhere from

Looks like Quentin Tarantino is getting back into the Kill Bill game soon. He posted on his twitter earlier Kill Bill Volume III followed by “The Bride Shall Fight Once More”. Looks like he’s prepping to shoot with a 2013 release date. I love Q.T.’s work especially Kill Bill I and II.

Rumor: Bond 23 Title Revealed?

Posted on 21 January 2011 by Christian

The Sun claims to have learned of the title for the upcoming Bond film and the rumor has also revealed a possible setting.

The ever unreliable UK tabloid, The Sun, has posted amongst casting rumors of Rachel Weisz, that the title of the 23rd Bond film will be Red Sky At Night.

Bleeding Cool, while trying to confirm the rumor, uncovered a forum post on Bond fan site ajb007 that corroborates The Sun’s claim:

Hi, new here guys, nice to find such a cool site. Im close friends with an art director in the film industry, i wont mention his name but he has worked closely with production designer Michael Carlin and is about to start work in Canada on Kal-El, the next Superman movie. He was busy in 2010 on Bond 23 before it went into hiatus. He told me that the movie for a while had the code name Red Shadow, but when official documentation and the script arrived it contained the title Red Sky At Night and as such was reffered to as this by Sam Mendes, Michael Carlin and the producers and the studio etc. I think its a pretty cool title myself though out of the two Red Shadow is better i think though Red Sky At Night has a classic Bond Movie ring to it. he also said that filming would have been done in Ontario, Canada and there was a large stunt involving the Ontario Tower as well as a huge hockey game and skiing/winter sports sequences. What do you guys think?

Personally, I’m not too convinced, although Canada would be a new setting for the franchise. I’d take this with a huge grain of salt and all that.

Also, “Kal-El, the next Superman movie” thing, perhaps the production name for the Synder film?

Marvel Studios Once Again Developing The Black Panther

Posted on 21 January 2011 by Christian

Marvel taps Mark Bailey to pen The Black Panther adaptation.

THR is reporting that Marvel Studios has hired Mark Bailey to pen an adaptation of The Black Panther that will be produced by Kevin Feige. The Black Panther (aka) T’Challa King of Wakanda, is a long time member of The Avengers who will themselves, be hitting the big screen next summer. The Black Panther first appeared in 1966 in the pages of The Fantastic Four.

Bailey, who’s credits include The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save a Lone Man in the Amazon may seem like an odd choice for The Black Panther to some. Marvel expects Bailey to bring realism and grittiness to the project.

The Black Panther was reacquired by Marvel in 2005 when it absorbed many character licenses from Lionsgate. In 2003 Lionsgate bought Artisan who had previously acquired the rights from Columbia who had planned on making a Black Panther film during the 90′s with Wesley Snipes attached.
