From K Games comes the trailer for The Darkness II, coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 7 in North America and February 10 internationally. I didn’t play the first Darkness and probably wont play this one either but it does look interesting. A word of warning though, the trailer is all cgi cinematics so we don’t really know what the game play will look like. We’ll have to wait and see actual game play when we get a real trailer closer to release date.
Based on the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II delivers a brutal and personal narrative as gamers take control of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction known as the Darkness.
The Darkness II is the sequel to the million unit-selling 2007 title, The Darkness, and brings a unique new combat mechanic through Quad-Wielding, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with thematic elements of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and maintains the stylistic violence visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique, true to its comic book origins.
It’s being called by some the most accurate depiction of modern warfare ever in a video game and from watching this trailer it certainly looks like it’s living up to the hype. Battlefield 3 looks to bring an insane amount of varied game play to your pc or console on October 25th as you work a captured marine in some middle east hell hole before his time runs out.
