TDKR Rumor: Bane’s Origin & “Power” Revealed?

Posted on 20 May 2011 by Christian

Get your salt ready! This one relates to Bane(Tom Hardy) and how he MAY become involved with The League Of Shadows, as well as the direction director Christopher Nolan could be taking with the character’s enhanced abilities from the comics..
This comes from IMDB, and the only reason I post is because it sounds plausible as the direction Nolan could go with the character. Plausible, not PROBABLE. Again I only post to gauge opinion on whether this could be a good way to go about utilizing Bane as something of an unstoppable opponent for Batman.

Bane is discovered after Ra’s burns down a village with the league of shadows — every citizen completely wiped out — they watch as the mayhem ensues.

However, before leaving, a young boy rises from a BURING PIT, the boy (young bane) is covered in flames.

Apparently, he doesn’t even flinch which makes Ra’s intrigued.

They take him in and teach him everything he knows So basically,

Bane’s only real advantage is that he has a genetic mutation that makes him impervious to pain. No super strength or chemical enhancers (tht i was made aware of)

The poster claims to have come by the information from a PA as the set was being locked down. It ties in with the pictures we have seen of the “Lazarus Pit”, and is imo a good way to have Bane match up to Batman without getting into the whole enhanced Venom strength business from the comics. The “genetic mutation” could well be simply a variation on a (real) disorder that kills nerve endings and thus numbs pain. The bit about being covered in flames is strange though, unless that’s how they mean to explain Bane’s use of a mask? I’m not sure Nolan would be keeping Hardy behind a mask, or full of burn makeup for the course of the movie though.

What do you guys think, is this a possibility?

Rumor: Garret Hedlund Interested In Daredevil

Posted on 18 March 2011 by Christian

Daredevil rumor day continues! This time it’s Tron Legacy’s Garret Hedlund that is said to be eyeing up the role of Matt Murdock in David Slade’s movie..

Yes, this is getting a bit silly. Particularly because it’s pretty unlikely that Slade and Fox have begun to think about casting since there isn’t even a script yet! But this rumor from our friends at Lostinthemultiplex suggest that Hedlund is interested in playing Matt Murdock..

Robert Pattinson As Daredevil Rumors Surface; Said To Be Similar In Tone To Batman Begins!

Posted on 17 March 2011 by Christian

Apparently, there’s some “talk” that the Twilight actor is being looked at to reteam with David Slade on Daredevil, while new details on the tone and story have also emerged…

“The West Hollywood Resnorter” over at Moviehole has a very interesting piece up about David Slade’s planned Daredevil movie (said to be a continuation, rather than a reboot) but two things in particular caught my eye.. The first, is the revelation that the movie will be similar in tone to Batman Begins, while the mention of a bad guy trying to destroy Daredevil certaintly fits in with the rumor that they’re thinking of basing it on Frank Miller’s “Born Again” series.

Conan Teaser Trailer Arrives…

Posted on 15 March 2011 by TH3 No08

Of all the remakes, reboots, and comic imaginations coming out this summer, this is probably the least interesting to me. I grew up knowing of Conan the comic but never really watched the movie version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. After watching this teaser I’m not sure I’m gonna be going out of my way anytime soon to check this version out either. Enjoy your spooky dark Conan trailer…

RUMOR: Chris Evans Being Considered For Lead Role In The Bourne Legacy!

Posted on 04 March 2011 by Christian

The latest rumor surrounding upcoming Bourne movie (sans Matt Damon as Jason Bourne) is that Captain America: The First Avenger star Chris Evans is the favorite to play the lead character…

I’m not sure about you guys, but a Bourne movie WITHOUT Jason Bourne just does not sit right with me. After recent reports listed several well known actors who were said to be in the running to replace Matt Damon in this film (none of who excited me that much) a rumor has emerged today that points at Captain America himself being favourite to star in The Bourne Legacy!

Sources tell Think McFly Think Evans is being considered by Universal for The Bourne Legacy. Word is they’re seeing big fat dollar signs with Captain America (that Superbowl TV spot went over like gangbusters and we should be getting the trailer soon) and writer/director Tony Gilroy likes what he’s seen from Evans’ past performances.

Replacing Matt Damon is proving to be a [female dog], and having a hot actor coming off a hit movie would help ease audiences into this new Bourne-absent installment. That’s why those rumblings of Shia LaBeouf’s candidacy, even Tobey Maguire, make perfect sense and Evans’ schedule will be clear after The Avengers wraps and well before any Captain America sequel.

What do you guys think about this? With The Bourne Legacy expected to be released sometime in the Summer of 2012, they’d need to start filming almost right after Evans finishes work on The Avengers – a busy schedule for the actor, but it could easily be done. Be sure to share your thoughts on this news in the usual place!

RUMOR: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Up For A Role In A Future X-Men Movie?

Posted on 12 February 2011 by Christian

In yet another rumor the site that recently claimed the former wrestler was in the running to play Superman, there is now a new theory that he’ll star as a mutant in the near future…

Not exactly the most reliable of sources I know, but Examiner have now revealed that there have been whispers accompanying the X-Men: First Class trailers release yesterday that Dwayne Johnson is up for a role in a future X-Men movie. They also mention that he’s been a big fan of the franchise for a while now and that his friendship with Hugh Jackman might help with him landing a role.

As Hugh Jackman bulks up to his beefy best for the next sequel to Wolverine in the the hugely popular X-Men film franchise, there’s talk amidst Thursday’s release of the X-Men First Class trailer that a former WWE superstar-turned-movie star may become a mutant himself.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, a self-described “fan” of the X-Men series, has been rumored as a potential star in a future X-Men film for nearly three years. So far, the rumors haven’t manifested in reality. But with Jackman and Johnson becoming good friends, perhaps Thursday’s rumor mill will have actually gotten something right for a change.

While the ridiculous earlier rumors from the site claiming that both Dwayne Johnson and John Cena were up for the role of Superman in Zack Snyder’s reboot a few months back, I really do hope that this one has some truth to it. While I can’t think of a mutant in particular that he’d be well suited for, I think he’s a great actor and would not be in the least bit bothered about him getting a role in this type of film in future! Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, 2011!

Full Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser To Air This Week?

Posted on 04 January 2011 by Christian

Rumour has it that Entertainment tonight will be showing a longer teaser for their behind-the-scenes Captain America set visit sometime within the next few days…

Despite speculation pointing to Entertainment Tonight not releasing more Captain America footage possibly for weeks, as late as next month, or even during the Superbowl. Well, Just Jared are reporting that we’ll see it a lot sooner than expected.

The 29-year-old actor will be featured in a teaser video for Captain America: The First Avenger later this week on the entertainment news show.

It’s not clear whether this will be footage of the actual movie, as they did before releasing the full Green Lantern trailer, or a mixture of that and behind the scenes footage as they did when they teased their visit to the set of Thor last year. I’m going to guess that it’s the latter mainly because that didnt look like actual movie footage in the 6 second video which was revealed online a few days ago. Be sure to share your thoughts on this in the usual place!

Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released in 3D on July 22, later this year!

VIDEO GAMES: Loads Of New X-Men Destiny Details Revealed!

Posted on 03 January 2011 by Christian

Although little is currently known about the upcoming video game, a list of features and story details has now been leaked online which includes new info on the characters, mutant powers and more…

In the February issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, a pile of new details about the interesting sounding video game were revealed, and thanks to gaming website stickskills, we have all the main highlights listed below.

-The tone of the game is said to be “dark, mature, & intense” striving towards an adult feel, but a Mature rating is said to not be likely.

-San Francisco is divided into human & non-human sectors as Professor X is dead.

-The game starts with a peace rally being staged to pay tribute to Professor X, which is when you are prompted to pick one of three characters in the crowd.

-OXM’s Activision guide chose Adrian Luca as their character.

-The game presents the player with frozen in time “decision moments”, indicating its time for players to make a big choice. The first big choice in the game allows you to pick your power archetype ranging from being able to manipulate matter and your body mass, energy projection, or a third one that was kept a secret.

-The game allows you to decide who is friend or foe in the X-Men universe.

-Cyclops, Quicksilver, Surge, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, & Gambit are confirmed to make an appearance in the title, with plenty more to be announced.

-X-Genes play a rather large role in the game, ranging from boss fights to deciding to give it to an X-Men, or someone else to form another alliance.

-Linking together a good amount of attacks will fill up your “Mutant power” meter, allowing you to pull off even stronger special attacks.

-One of the special attacks described as a part of the “Mutant power” meter was “Force Pillars”. The attack was said to produce crowd clearing beams that rise from the ground.

Deathly Hallows Pt 2 casting news…

Posted on 28 December 2010 by TH3 No08

For you lovers of all things Potter…

According to screenterriers.com The final bit of re-shoots for the forthcoming final chapter in the Harry Potter saga has concluded and with that comes a bit of interesting casting news.

Up first is Ben Clarke who has apparently been cast as a young Severus Snape for the purpose of flash backs and back story. Not a bad choice I guess. Looks a lot like Snape, same hair and facial features. We’ll see how well he plays the nerdy younger version of Snape who once crooned for Potter’s mother in his childhood but ultimately lost out to her to the much more dashing James Potter.

Ben Clarke as Young Severus Snape…

now the spoilery stuff

Bertie Gilbert has been cast as Scorpius Malfoy(the son of Draco Malfoy), who appears in the final chapter of the book which takes place many years after the final battle. In this chapter of the book, quite a few of the main characters of the story have ventured back to Kings Crossing to send their children off to Hogwarts and do a little catching up around platform 9 and 8/4ths. It will be interesting to see if this ending stays the same or is adjusted to allow for future sequels not based on books (which has long been the rumor about town). Either way it gives us something to look forward to after the lackluster Deathly Hallows pt 1.

Avengers Rumor Debunked! Will NOT Face Off Against The Skrulls And Kree as Reported

Posted on 28 December 2010 by Christian

The information recently published was in fact due to “a research error” by the New Mexico newspaper taking the chances of the team facing off against the aliens right back to being nothing more than rumor…

After Ain’t It Cool news stumbled across an interesting newspaper article in the Albuquerque Journal (reported here on CBM by our own DCMarvelFreshman) which stated that, “…the Avengers battle with two alien races, the Skrulls and the Kree,” the earlier rumours about this were given a lot of extra credibility. Well, the guys over at SuperHeroHype have done a little digging and confirmed that this statement was nothing more than the newspapers own research rather than information they’d learned directly from Marvel who recently confirmed that they would film there.

SuperheroHype has confirmed that the information published in the Albuquerque Journal was not officially released through Marvel Studios and can instead be attributed to a research error on the part of the newspaper.

While this does not preclude the film from featuring the Kree or the Skrull, there is no hard evidence to date to suggest their inclusion.

As they point out, this doesnt mean that they won’t feature in the movie, but as everyone from director Joss Whedon to stars like Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo have hinted at them following the classic Avengers vs. Hulk/Loki storyline, I think it’s fair to say that’s the most likely option of what we’ll see. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

The Avengers is set to be released on May 4, 2012 and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson.

RUMOR: Heath Ledger to Cameo in The Dark Knight Rises?

Posted on 30 November 2010 by Christian

Could we be seeing Heath Ledger as The Joker one more time in The Dark Knight Rises? According to Showbizspy it is very possible.

We are all familiar with Heath Ledger’s brilliant performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Some fans have even stated they would rather not see The Joker on screen again (with another actor) due to Ledgers untimely death from an accidental overdose.

Now The Showbizspy is reporting that “sources” are saying Christopher Nolan is considering using previously unseen footage from Ledgers The Dark Knight Joker performance in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises.

“The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time,
