The Dark Knight Rises official trailer

Posted on 20 December 2011 by TH3 No08

After sitting through about a week of bootlegged cam versions of this we now have an official release of the full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. I’m continually blown away by Christopher Nolan’s work as a director. He has reached a level of perfection in his work that few directors have even come close to and I expect TDKR to be his best film so far.
Things that stand out to me in this trailer are Bane’s voice. It seems eerily similar to the strained growl of Bale’ Batman voice. No coincidence there I’m sure. Next is Cat Woman and her parallel to the OWS in her mini monologue. There was a lot of talk during the New York stage of production that they would mirror the Wall Street protest and it looks like she is right in the middle of it. Third is the quick shot of Joseph Gordon Levitt. I’m curious what role he will play in this film as rumors have had him playing everything from Robin to Night Wing to a new version of the Joker. All will be revealed when it hits theaters next year. I can’t wait!

Possible Spoilers: Major Plot Points Regarding Bane & Batman in The Dark Knight Rises Revealed?

Posted on 15 July 2011 by Christian

An extra that has been on set of The Dark Knight Rises gives some information about the final battle between Bane and Batman. Read article at your own risk.

A recent interview with a extra from TDKR might possibly reveal how similar the movie is to the comic storyline “Knightfall”.

Know Your Marvel News: So you are an extra in The Dark Knight Rises?

“TheDredog21″: I’m a Extra in the movie when we start shooting in Pittsburgh next month.

KYMN: You say next month, is there anything you have already filmed, anything new that we saw in the teaser?

“TheDredog21″: [in the trailer] The Epic Conclusion is referring to the fight scene between Bane and Batman. Batman does get bloodied and beating to a pulp finally bane has Batman over his head in the air …..well you just have to find out what happens but the first offical trailer you will see has young Ra’s al ghul and Catwoman. But it is Bane and batman at the end of the trailer Batman is limping and Bane is limping as well, Batman walks up to Bane before they fight and Bane says I’ve been waiting for you pumps his Venom up then turns his head then Batman backs up.

KYMN: Some very interesting details, so what else will you be shooting?

“TheDredog21″: I’m Just a Extra During Banes Prison Break but I hope to do more films since im talented in doing voices and i would play a real dark bad guy or any voice of a villian if i had a chance to.

So it sounds as though that Bane will figure out Batman’s identity and break his back like in the original comics, but there is no confirmation that this is true.

We won’t know the truth for almost a year when The Dark Knight Rises releases on July 20, 2012. Starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as James Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane,Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle

Official Website For The Dark Knight Rises Now Online

Posted on 20 May 2011 by Christian

Unfortunately not featuring anything other than a black screen and some sort of sound clip of music and some very Gladiator styled chanting, but the official site is now online and active…

The official website for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is now officially online and unfortunately it features almost literally nothing. The last couple days the site has been going through different stages 404′ing, 403′ing, redirecting to “thedarkknightrises.warnerbros.com” and at one point redirecting people directly to the Warner Bros. website.

When you first open the page you’re brought to a completely black page and you can hear some sort of sound clip of chanting among some other noises/music. It sounds very Gladiator like in my opinion. If you click the black screen you’ll be brought directly to the sound clip. The voice is saying something however I cant quite make out what it is so maybe you guys will have better luck with it.

Be sure to check back for updates on the site as I’m sure it wont be much longer now.
[Click the image below to be taken to the site]

Thanks to the amazing detective skills of the people over at the SHH forums, we know a little more about the sound file. Someone put it through an audio editor and clicked “Show Spectrum” and here are the results.

It’s a hastag for Twitter that reads #TheFireRises

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, & Michael Caine, and is expected to hit theaters July 20th 2012.

TDKR Rumor: Bane’s Origin & “Power” Revealed?

Posted on 20 May 2011 by Christian

Get your salt ready! This one relates to Bane(Tom Hardy) and how he MAY become involved with The League Of Shadows, as well as the direction director Christopher Nolan could be taking with the character’s enhanced abilities from the comics..
This comes from IMDB, and the only reason I post is because it sounds plausible as the direction Nolan could go with the character. Plausible, not PROBABLE. Again I only post to gauge opinion on whether this could be a good way to go about utilizing Bane as something of an unstoppable opponent for Batman.

Bane is discovered after Ra’s burns down a village with the league of shadows — every citizen completely wiped out — they watch as the mayhem ensues.

However, before leaving, a young boy rises from a BURING PIT, the boy (young bane) is covered in flames.

Apparently, he doesn’t even flinch which makes Ra’s intrigued.

They take him in and teach him everything he knows So basically,

Bane’s only real advantage is that he has a genetic mutation that makes him impervious to pain. No super strength or chemical enhancers (tht i was made aware of)

The poster claims to have come by the information from a PA as the set was being locked down. It ties in with the pictures we have seen of the “Lazarus Pit”, and is imo a good way to have Bane match up to Batman without getting into the whole enhanced Venom strength business from the comics. The “genetic mutation” could well be simply a variation on a (real) disorder that kills nerve endings and thus numbs pain. The bit about being covered in flames is strange though, unless that’s how they mean to explain Bane’s use of a mask? I’m not sure Nolan would be keeping Hardy behind a mask, or full of burn makeup for the course of the movie though.

What do you guys think, is this a possibility?

Kate Winslet Also In Talks For 2nd Female Lead In TDKR

Posted on 21 February 2011 by Christian

In the same article from THR that confirms Marion Cotillard’s involvement with Christopher Nolans upcoming Batman threequel, the site also mentions Kate Winslet’s name..

I guess this one slipped by us! But along with Marion Cotillard THR mentions some other ladies possibly in line for a role in The Dark Knight Rises. Two of them have popped up before in connection with the movie, but Miss Winslet has not..

Nolan had been focusing on finding the romantic lead for Christian Bale in recent weeks, reading and meeting with several actresses, including Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts, according to insiders.

Both Watts and Weisz have been brought up as contenders for the role before but, along with Winslet, it appears they may still in the running, although apparently the role is Cotillard’s if she wants it. But she is expected to give birth in May when the film goes into production. Still nothing solid on the character these actresses are up for. The popular theory is Talia Al Ghul, but looking at the other contenders and the fact that we already have one female villain in Anne Hathaway’s Catw..uh, Selina Kyle, I reckon it’s either Sarah Essen or Vicki Vale. Of course there are lots of other possibilities. The character may not have even appeared in the comics before. What do you think?

RUMOR: Black Mask, Hugo Strange, Killer Croc And Talia Al Ghu All In The Dark Knight Rises?

Posted on 16 December 2010 by Christian

Got a pinch of salt handy? Good. An “insider” is claiming that they’ve see the script and that all of the above villains will play a part! Hit the jump to read a pile of plot details and spoilers about all that and more…

We all know how unreliable these anonymous sources tend to be, but I know how desperate we all are for news on the third, and final, installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise so figured I’d let you guys be the judge of whether this is genuine or not. If nothing else, it makes for an interesting read as there are a lot of genuinely excellent sounding plot points and characters included in the outline. The only thing that makes me doubt it, is the fact that it sounds just TOO busy for one two and a half hour film! Anyway, enough talk. Read on…

“My buddy works at WB, he emailed me the script, I asked him if I can “spoil the news” he said sure go ahead but not many would believe me, so I said ok. In other words, I have the script, whether you believe me or not, is up to you, btw, we will be getting a press release in mid January – qoute me on that!

“Main villain of the film is Dr. Hugo Strange, and I believe Tom Hardy is playing Black Mask. This movie will indeed blow everyone to shreds! It’s more violent and darker then TDK. The female lead is Talia al Ghul and Sarah Essen, Bullock is in the film. Dr. Hugo Strange is the main villain, Black Mask replaces Salvatore Ramoni recruits Killer Croc as the muscle to take down the Bat. Killer Croc is known to be a psychopathic killer with diseased reptile function skinned, who’s an expert in hand to hand combat and extremely agile.

“I don’t want to spoil the opening sequence, but they mention both [Harvey Dent & the Joker], and they give a Harlee Quinzel reference. Batman and Gordon are on good terms, but they keep a very low profile since Gordon is the one who’s leading the task force, and Bullock hates Gordon.

“Bat chopper is in the film, there will be flashback scenes with Ras and a young Talia. Talia is the second villain, Black Mask is the side villain much like how Carmine Falcone and Salvatore Maroni was in the Batman Begins and TDK, they tie in Talia with Dr. Strange. There is no Robin. Batcave is back, Batman has a shit load of new weapons as well, some seem a bit unrealistic though. Bat plane much like a jet plane, no mentions of a new Batsuit just yet.

“We see a torture scene with the Scarecrow by Dr. Strange, apparently Scarecrow was truly working for Hugo in Batman Begins. It was Hugo Strange who supplied Scarecrow with the fear toxin, Scarecrow failed him, so Strange wanted to teach Scarecrow a lesson in “true meaning of fear.” Strange and Talia are tied in due to the fear toxin, Killer Croc and Black Mask are thrown in. Batman is combating a lot of guys in the movie, there’s a lot of action here, epic fight scene with Talia on the rooftop of Wayne enterprise, a superb action scene with Killer Croc in the Narrows, and an awesome Black Mask confrontation at Arkham. Also, Scarecrow gets killed by Dr. Strange in Arkham.”

So, there you have it. A creative piece of fan fiction is the most likely answer to whether or not this is genuine (can you imagine how tight security must be around a script as hot as The Dark Knight Rises) but stranger things have been proven true before now! I think the most obvious way of deducting it’s authenticity will be whether or not Warner Bros contact CBM and the other sites reporting this and ask for it to be removed. Stay tuned, and be sure to share your thoughts below!

The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

The Dark Knight Rises Script Expected Monday

Posted on 05 December 2010 by Christian

Thats right, Christopher Nolan is expected to send his script for “The Dark Knight Rises” to Warner Bros. TOMOMORROW.

This is pretty big news, David S. Cohen of Variety is reporting. During a recent sit down with Christopher Nolan, the director revealed that his script for “The Dark Knight Rises”, his third and final Batman film, would be due Monday, December 6th (TOMORROW).

Since the script is being handed in very soon, should we expect a press release soon confirming the villains/story? Obviously things will take time to finalize, but don’t be surprised if we started hearing some official news on Nolan’s final Batman movie by early January.

Holy Breaking Batman News Batman!!!

Posted on 12 November 2010 by TH3 No08

Breaking news from Deadline Hollywood regarding the future of the Batman Franchise. It was announced earlier today that there would be two female leads in the forthcoming Batman sequel, one playing the love interest, the other playing a female villain.

This news opens up a ton of options for who the villain could be, anyone from Cat Woman to Poison Ivy to Harley Quinn (and a ton more, check Wikipedia for a detailed list). Personally I’d love to see a Harley Quinn revenge story line for the death of her lover/partner in crime.
