Super 8 Interactive Trailer Included on Portal 2 for PC

Posted on 20 April 2011 by TH3 No08

Apparently JJ Abrams is the most innovative marketing genius of his generation because he has now come up with a whole new way to market his movies. For his upcoming Super 8 film he has teamed with the creators of Portal 2 to create an interactive game level where you can actually walk around and explore the train that wrecks in the trailer for their movie. Very interesting stuff with lots of little tidbits of information just waiting to be explored… If you drop $60 bucks for Portal 2. Or you can watch it here…

ChristmasGeddon: 10 Things YOU Probably Don

Posted on 15 December 2010 by mjones

Oh hey, didn’t see you there!

I’m here today to talk about Christmas… or “X-Mas” as its known in the darkest circles of Mall Advertising Planners. Now everyone has certain shows, or movies that they LOVE to watch to help get them in the mood for when the Pie-Baking-Season rolls around, but…

What to watch, hmmm? A Christmas Story? Rankin/Bass stop-motion specials? It’s A Wonderful Life perhaps? No Sir! Not me!

Because I’m all broken and messed-up inside, my holly jolly favorites are of a slightly… different variety. Join me, won’t you, as we take a load of tinsel in the face from a jolly, fat man that we can only hope is Saint Nick…

#10 – The Ref (1994)

This delightfully pessimistic film is about a man who holds a screwed-up, bickering family hostage when his planned robbery goes all NUTTY, and they’re on a colission course with wackyness! It’s nice to see Denis Leary when he was funny, still fresh from dry-humping jokes out of Bill Hicks’ corpse. This is the most normal Christmas Comedy I’ll admit to watching, as most other movies that can be described as a “Christmas Comedy” make me want to tear my own eyes out, and fill the empty sockets with broken ornaments.

#9 – Santa’s Slay (2005)

Santa is a demon,

Is Anna Faris the female Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson alluded to in our recent interview????

When it was posted on featurefilmauditions.com that Anna Faris was listed as a star of GHOSTBUSTERS III, It certainly piqued our interest here at thenoobnews.com home office. Just last weekend we spoke to Ernie Hudson, also know as Winston Zeddmore of the Ghostbusters, and he alluded to the fact that he would certainly love to see a female Ghostbuster added to the mix in the future. Less than ten days later the news drops that Anna Faris of Scary Movie fame (among many other things) would be joining the cast certainly seemed like a bit more than coincidence. She’s got comedic chops, she’s super hot, and she’s a pretty good actor to boot (see the brit pic, Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel). While this could certainly be just a coincidence, you could do a lot worse than having Anna Faris break the glass ceiling and become the first female Ghostbuster…

the noob has spoken…

The Panasonic AF100

The Panasonic Af100 looks to be the next generation in digital slr video cameras. According to the video below, it has all the great things that have made the indy film world fall in love with the digital slr’s, but without all the drawbacks. A couple of the drawbacks addressed by this camera include pro audio connections, the anti-aliasing issue has been addressed as well as the jello effect when shooting fast motion. It comes with all the bells and whistles we’ve been looking for but without the drawbacks and it’s being listed under $6,000 (without lenses). This is a major step forward and could be another blow against the mighty RED camera that was the hype of the industry just a few years ago. With a price this low, and the ability to shoot with a “film like” quality, I say lets do this…
