I saw this over on AICN and had to share it with you. Very few words can describe how awesome and terrible this is at the same time. It’s a fucking zombie Bin Laden movie. Really?
Apparently these guys are looking for fundage to finish their film over at kickstart. Go here to help them out. Enjoy?
The story follows Dusty, a yoga instructor from Colorado, who is on a desperate rescue mission to save her crazy brother Derek, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced Osama Bin Laden is still alive, despite having been buried at sea. In Afghanistan, Dusty falls in with a team of NATO Special Forces on a secret assignment. Turns out Derek is not so crazy after all, and that Osama has returned from his watery grave and is making an army of zombie terrorists. When the group crashes headlong into the growing zombie apocalypse, Dusty and the troops must find and destroy the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the rest of the world.
In one of the strangest stories of the day Paramount Pictures looks to be turning the Max Brooks book World War Z into a trilogy of films. WWZ stars Brad Pitt and is being directed by Marc Forster and according to the Los Angeles Times, both Forster and Paramount Pictures view World War Z not as a one-and-done but as a series of films. I’m not sure how this would work as the book is not really set up in the traditional narrative story but I could see it working if they were to treat the source material right. We’ll see when the first movie hits theaters later this year.
One of the things that set TWD apart from most other low budget or tv zombie movies was their attention to detail and all the hard work that went into creating such original zombies. Here a look behind the scenes at what it takes to create the wardrobe for a herd of zombies.
The new season of TWD premieres October 16, 2011 on AMC.
AMC has announced that The Walking Dead’s season two premiere will be a ninety minute episode just as the series premiere was. I look forward to seeing where the story is headed and whether or not they will stick to the comic or continue to drift away from the great story line set for in the comic series.

Every since the first trailer for this game hit early this year the anticipation has been growing. FPS zombie shooters are huge and this looks to take it to the next level. Here’s the final trailer to convince you that this is a must by when it hits stores September 6, 2011.
I’m always looking for bad ass t-shirts to replace my aging collection so when I ran across this over at blastr.com I knew I had to have it. Problem is I can’t find it to buy anywhere. Anyone know where i can get one of these? The shirt not the girl…
The internet when apeshit for the trailer for this game when it hit a few months back and the hype train went off the rails for this first person zombie shooter meets GTA. Now and interesting bit of news from IGN. It look like the box art for the North American release of the game will be censored. The Dead Island logo will be changed to remove a zombie hanging from a palm tree and replace him with a stumbling zombie who is not nearly as offensive (apparently). No real reason was given for the censorship other than this statement given by Deep Silver…
Deep Silver told IGN that the box art will be modified in North America, however it will go unchanged within the title screen of the game and on the boxes of the European copies of the game.
Have a look at the before and after versions of these two logos.
Before censorship…
I was just discussing last week with fellow noob Kevin Minke how their weren’t any games on my radar that I was really looking forward to playing. It’s that slow time of year when all the good games dropped over the holiday and nothings really good is gonna come out for a while and it’s probably the worst time of year to be a video game geek. But that quickly changed today when this little beauty was dropped on me like a ton of bricks. I don’t want to speak in hyperbole but this thing looks pretty awesome. We’ve had a lot of games come out lately with zombies, some good, some bad, but none perfect. They all seem to lacking a bit of heart, a reason to want to survive and the trailer to this game really feels like it may have hit that nail on the head. Granted it is (i assume) cinematic game footage not actual game play but I really like the whole family vacation gone wrong feel. I look forward to playing this when it drops and letting you know how good it actually is…
“Dead Island is an open world video game in development by Techland for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, scheduled for a 2011 release. It is centered on the challenge of survival on a zombie-infested island. Dead Island will focus primarily on melee combat, with firearms and ammo being extremely scarce.
A few years ago I stumbled across the small spanish horror movie [REC]. It was a verite style horror movie, filmed from various helmet cameras and television cameras to capture the action taking place in a small apartment complex as a zombie/demon/rabies outbreak happened. It was awesome, I loved it, I couldn’t wait to see the sequel [REC] 2 when it was announced and I was not dissappointed when I did see it. Now I’m equally excited to see that they are moving forward with two more films that will fill in the gaps between the first two films as well as spread the story to the world outside the apartment building. Let the awesomeness ensue…
Blooding-Disgusting has reported that Leticia Dolera has been cast alongside Diego Martin for [REC] Genesis. Paco Plaza and Jaume Balaguero will split directing duties for the final two films in the franchise,
With Christmas almost here, I thought I’d share with you some cool geeky items that are flowing around the interwebs. Some of these items would be great for your desk, some for home, and some for just plan fun. Hopefully, you’ll find some great gift ideas for that geek in your life or the geek in us all. So in no particular order I give you The Noob News Top 50 Items on your Geek’s Christmas List 2010.
There is so much awesome stuff at this site that I could write a whole list on just the top 20 or 30 items from KnockKnock Products if I so desired. This is why it’s first on my list. Great for the office, your home and even the gifts you may be making. I just love this site and it’s array of wonderful items.
One item on my own shopping list in the future, is the Geek Desk. This nice desk has a motorized adjustable height for either sitting or standing great for those that don’t want to sit for hours at a time or need to work with multiple people. It comes in two sizes, the Original and the Mini.
Don’t be suprised if at any point in the next week you are approached by a member of the undead, and please don’t shoot them. The marketing department of The Walking Dead tv show premiering saturday night on AMC are planning something big and it looks to be world wide. Check out the press release and just remember, it’s all fun and games till someone losses an eye, or an arm, or a head…
Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite games I’m playing right now and it looks to be getting a lot better in the near future. The official trailer for the Undead Nightmare down-loadable content pack was released today and it looks sick. Huge crowds of zombies, undead animals, more missions, special weapons and playable zombie characters… what else could you ask for? Oh and did I mention all this takes place in the old west? This game just keeps getting better. No word on the release date but I would assume it’s right around the corner as Halloween is only 30 days away.
